At least they're going to air all the episodes without re-runs. Now if we can only get them to eliminate the commercials (it would only be a half hour show :p )!

I now watch some shows at 2X speed on my TiVo with closed captions on. ~21 minutes for a "1 hour" show. :p

In our VCR days, we'd watch it live, and sit through the commercials, because we didn't want to wait a whole hour to watch it taped. Now, with our DVR, we can start watching 20 minutes after it starts, as it continues to record, fast forward through the commercials as we come to them, and reach the end of the show just about real-time.

Grand isn't it :) I can't imagine TV life without my EyeTV... actually theres nothing on TV that I watch right now anyways :D

We're close. But going off them little trailers I'm not that keen. I don't like this rut of a series so far.

I'm still living in the VCR days ;)

Lost seasons 1 & 2 I have seen almost in one go by downloading the lot, and watching a couple of episodes every night on my Mac.
That was brilliant! I really got into Lost, and loved the characters and mysteries.

Season 3 I watched by downloading the episode which was just broadcasted in the US, and watching it the next night on my Mac.

So, season 3 I can only watch one episode a week, just like on normal TV. And TBH, I much less enjoy wachting it now.
And because we had to wait another couple of months before seeing the rest of season 3, I have almost lost interest.

I might do the same thing this time... wait until season 3 has finished broadcasting, find the torrent for the complete season 3, and watch them all in one go.
Ths show is going slowly as it is....

Just a reminder to all that it's OK to discuss the Lost episode tonight as soon as you've seen it (or even while it's in progress), and a reminder not to read this thread if you won't be the first to see it and want to avoid spoilers.

Whats with the extra commercial breaks?

There was a 2 or 3 minute segment when sawyer and kate get to the boaT then danny gets killed, then were back to commercials.

I noticed that as well. Maybe one of the segments was longer then the other ones. It ended at 11 on the dot.

AMAZING episode, btw.

Yeah, it was a good episode. The Lost Preview hour before it, just got you up-to-date instead of answering any questions that was a little disappointing.
I cant wait to see what going on with Desmond next week.

They were really milking the ad revenue there. I'm a fan of the show, but damn, they are just barely stringing me along...I feel this is a J.J. Abrams speciality...drag you to the edge and leave you hanging there, EVERY TIME. A few more episodes without answers (or the other half of the cast) and I'm going to have to give this show the boot, just like I did to Alias at the beginning of season four.

Watching seasons of shows on DVD or downloaded really spoils you. I picked up the entire series of the X-files, (69 DVDs) and blew through them in about two months one summer, and started hitting them again this past fall. It was great to see the consistency and well thought out progression. Same thing with ST Enterprise, the first two seasons (over the course of two weeks) are fascinatingly tight. Heck even Reno 911, at high doses starts revealing the planning and thought to a seemingly off-the-cuff sketch comedy.

Watching Lost has been very difficult lately because of all the pauses, stops and starts, and now the several month hiatus. I hope the 16 weeks in a row is worth it (it sounds great, but we'll see).

As a veteran TV junkie (who doesn't have cable and can't get local reception), nailing the full season of a show at one time is my preferred poison.

i saw this just a few minutes ago and apparently, ms is using lost ads to also promote their flip 3d feature in vista.

the article: http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/microsoft/archives/111070.asp

there's a direct link to the ad on that page, and you will see the half baked expose being exposed there.

And if this is a bad season ... I'm going to blame it on MS.

Did anyone get that the drug that Juliet makes to create wombs/pregnacy in otherwise "barren" persons may cause cancer and that possibly Ben might have had the procedure done on him (to birth a baby)?

I really liked the survivor guide before the "mid season premeire" - I definitely didn't know the thing about the number being in so many places - which almost makes it seem like it might be a dream somehow or that it might be like locke said ... some kind of destiny.

I really really hope that the next 15 episodes start wrapping things up and answering questions, which i think they will. I think we will have to go through a "Ben's life" flashback episode and then everything will start making sense.

I guess I'm the only one that didn't really think the episode was all that great?

I mean.. 9 weeks off and THAT was what we get? Yawn.

It had a lot of action and kept me entertained.

I particularly liked the part where Juliet said she could only get away if her Ex was hit by a bus!

As soon as that bus plowed by, I had to laugh. Then seeing Ethan in the morgue was a bit bizarre to say the least. Although you now see that Juliet is supposedly no fool.

Finally, things are starting to clear up with the others. Some of them are openly hostile (Juliet didn't have a problem shooting that guy), and that guy Tom openly introduced himself to Jack. So it looks like two clear camps there.

It didn't answer any questions though. We now have a few more characters, Ben's daughter and her boyfriend. Pretty sick with the mind control stuff going on there. Seemed a bit hokey though, with those rim-lit glasses!

Although I DVR'd it and blew through the commercials. Even on DVR, I noticed they went easy in the beginning and really piled on 2 or 3 3 minute commercial breaks toward the second half hour.

ABC Still doesn't get that they are the contributing factor to killing the show.

Wasnt that Locke with hair in Juliettes flashback last night?
No, that was Ethan. Now that you mention it, though, they do favor each other.

Me neither. We got to learn some more about Juliet's back story, but that was it. Very ho hum, I thought.

Oh, now I had a different take on that. I assumed that Juliet's sister already had cancer, and that some part of the treatments (maybe a hysterectomy) had left her infertile, and that Juliet was trying to help her get pregnant. I didn't make a connection to Ben's cancer, but I see your point. We'll see!

Her sister seemed to have been "barren" before she had cancer. I think that the drugs may have given her cancer. I think that Ben was a test subject - for the same process. The "sonograms" on the wall in Juliet's research facility were from a male with a womb weren't they?

Perhaps Juliette was supposed to seem slightly sympathetic, but she was working to bring a baby into the world with a mother who might be dying and no father around, which might not be considered proper medical ethics. And she steals medical supplies. And shoots people. And apparently cares more about getting home herself than in helping Jack and friends. Sorry, no humanity awards for Juliette.

The bus accident could have been coincidence. It could have been arranged by her potential employer. But... might it have been caused simply by her talking about it?
