What's up with the boat? When they were still on the island, it looked like a cruise ship, but at the end, it's all rusted and looked small?

I'm gonna give up watching LOST soon, it's driving me crazy. I loved the first season, but it has gone downhill ever since. :(

to me that doesn't look like a cruise ship.. mb a cruise ship angle...

OK, so the most curious thing to me about last night's episode was the scene where the 815 flight attendant (can't recall her name at the moment) brought the group of kids around to watch Jack in his cage. More to the point, she seemed taken aback at his violent reaction to her, as if she didn't quite understand what he and the other survivors had been going through. So now it's a little unclear to me whether she was one of the "others" all along (and perhaps had a more direct hand in causing the plane crash), or if they've brainwashed her since they captured her in the jungle, or what.

I think they were going to watch the verdict of Juliet. Also, the "island" caused the plane crash.

Taking kids to watch somebody get sentenced to death seems a little odd too, doesn't it?

Meanwhile, Sawyer and Kate are camping out with an "other" but don't seem interested in pumping him for information. They asked only a couple of questions and then let it drop!

I didn't enjoy that one. A whole flashback to explain Jacks tatoo? Come on.

It's quite funny in that by keeping the "others" mysterious they are actually cheapening the feel. What with the old woman who appeared this episode and the people outside Jacks cage.

Terrible really.

I think [Cindy and the kids] were going to watch the verdict of Juliet.
OK, I've been doing my ritualistic morning-after LOST research and I see a number of other people who've also reached this conclusion -- namely, that the Others have brought Cindy and the kids to see Juliet's "trial" (perhaps so that they will better understand how justice is served in their community). It was still odd to me, how she reacted to seeing Jack in a cage and apparently not being too concerned about it. I assume that she's been brainwashed, or otherwise "convinced" that the Others aren't so bad.

Exactly. What used to be fun about the show was watching the characters try to understand and deal with the mysteries of the island. They were smart and not always predictable. It was different than typical TV writing. Now look at them.

It's very difficult to empathize with characters who only seem interested in dragging the story out for another season.

<sigh>

I've got so much time invested in this show, I HATE to stop watching now. Buty this whole season has been a collosal disappointment.. so much so that I want to stop watching.

i completely agree. i haven't watched episode 9 yet. that 40 minute 'flashback' of desmond just completely nailed up the coffin for me.

i'm really annoyed, because the show had so much potential, and now it's dead to me. and my girlfriend. and everyone we know who watches it.

Cheech! hah

Tonight's episode was pretty good.

Were we watching the same episode? There was ZERO substance to the episode tonight. Literally nothing happened until the last 30 seconds, and what happened there was information we had first season (maybe). The only difference now was that the information was given to a character who might have wanted it.

Tonight's episode was completely worthless.

As for the show in general, it's been floundering a bit, but I think they're on track to pick it up the rest for the remainder of the season. I'm not givin' up just yet.

Tonight's episode was AMAZING! Didn't explain anything, and barely helped the story. But still - it had that season one feeling to it. If we must have fillers, these are the kind of fillers we need.

I have to agree there, but it was nice to see Hurley finally succeed at something. It was a feel good episode, nothing more...

The previews show patch eye guy, we'll see what happens.

I had high hopes that they learned their lesson from all the negative feedback. Lets hope it leads somewhere. They really need to take a lesson from Heroes.

Aaaaaaamen! Heroes is great in that it has these little mini-mysteries which it presents and answers in 3-4 episodes. It doesn't endlessly present mystery after mystery without providing a true answer to anything.

And how the heck are the writers missing all this feedback? Do they really think they're doign a good job? Are they too self-involved to look at the ratings?

Well, tonight's episode was better than last week's. I know, not saying much, but it was ok. I'm hoping next week's is better, but I'm getting kind of tired of thinking that. This is why Alias got canceled too. You'd think they'd learned by now.

After sleeping on it last night, I came to realize it was nice to take a break from all the reality (or unreality).

It was nice to see Hurley win one.

That was barely alright. I appreciate they took the time to show Hurley do something good and make it a feel good episode blah blah, but to spend the whole episode... a whole 7 day wait for it? I think at this stage we're owed something more substantial seeing how the story is (supposedly) picking up.
The only future implication I can see from this is perhaps Charlie won't end up dying now?
Oh and that James might be here to stay. Though I somehow find the image of him being romantic a little unsettling.

No! Screw it. The whole dog bringing Hurley the arm and key like that was just crap. I can accept polar bears and the old feeling the Others gave off... but that was just totally naff.

Would you have preferred that Vincent had a tag saying Workdog on him?

Personally the eps was bland at best. Personally they shot themselves in the foot with the weeks they went on long break and then to come back and compete with AI, bad move.
