They really had him on a roll with the names this week. What did he call Charlie?
I guess I missed that one. I caught "Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon" (for Jin and Sun), and "Avalanche" and "Grimace" for Hurley. I'm sure there were a few more sprinkled in there. ;)

I agree with you about the unbelievable lack of communication between Locke and Sayid. Actually, I can understand that Sayid hadn't had a chance to tell Locke about the explosives, what with the surprise standoff when he and Kate emerged from the underground tunnel. But Locke thinking that it was a good idea to go ahead and key in 77 just to see what would happen? Even if he didn't know about the explosives, you'd think he would sense that that wasn't a good idea. I mean, I knew it was a bad idea. ;)

I watched this last night on DVR. I started watching at 11:01 and finished it by 11:27. The show is now so short, they should just call it an informercial.
As raggedjimmi already pointed out, this week's episode is nearly 44 minutes in iTunes, which is at least as long, if not longer than most episodes in Seasons 1, 2, and 3.

Lost episodes are not getting any shorter people!

The avi I grabbed last night is 42:10. All hour long shows are between 40-44 minutes.

Last night's episode was a step in the right direction. I much prefer the let's-run-around-the-island-and-try-to-solve-mysteries format to the let's-put-people-in-cages-and-torture-them format.

I think Locke wins the "Gilligan Award" this week for pressing 77.

The only question I have is when the hell is Sawyer going to call Charlie "Merry"? I'd even settle for him being called a hobbit.

I think we have successfully proven that pilotError is a filthy liar.
Hey Lyle I might have gotten it wrong, but your comments are uncalled for.

Good grief, I was being sarcastic. Do I have to affix an emoticon to every post I make so that people know how they're supposed to respond to it?

If anything I was poking fun at the chorus of people who chimed in with their running times for that episode in an effort to disprove you.

I'm really unhappy about the changes the writers have instilled in Locke. In previous season(s) he had it pretty well together. Now they're turning him into freakin' Don Knotts, for f__cks sake! C'mon! Turning his back on the unconscious Russian to mess with the computer?!?! Didn't you get enough computer button pushing already, Locke? Haven't you learned your lesson?!?!

Then, what's with pushing the History Eraser Button? What did you think was going to happen when you pushed "77," free pudding was going to come out of the wall??!?!?

My thoughts exactly. He's gone from being a fairly decent character to simply being an idiot. I almost thought they'd kill him and/or Kate off last night in the explosion, which I knew would happen as soon as the "press 77" came up.

Otherwise, the episode was reasonably good, I thought. I liked the back story on Sayid, especially the connection with the cat. Can anyone confirm if "Nadia" - the name of the cat - had some significance other than to the gymnast?

What was the name of the woman he loved? From his past? Probably not the same but...

Yeah totally. Locke seemed to be mentally impaired in this episode compared to previous ones. The writers could be setting up for later episodes by showing some vulnerabilities in his character. Locke has been susceptible to a few things like when he lost his kidney to the guy that was pretending to be his dad.

An episode with alot of action, but a pretty dumb episode if you ask me.

Sajid seems to know everything.
Locke is suddenly a stupid dumb-ass.
Kate is just being Mrs. Rambo.
Hugo is gr8 at tabletennis while you have to be fast and agile to be able to be that.
Come on...

I have this feeling that after the series is finished there will be a movie called Lost, where they have slipped the same whole story into just 2 hours of entertainment.

Wednesday's episode was the best episode of the season. It certainly kept my interest in the series. I was starting to give up on lost, but last night's show was interesting, to say the least. More explore, less cages... more explosion, interesting backstory = good.

I'm surprised by the negativity

I think the series have definitely got better since the first 6 episodes.
As I've said before, I still think the prolonging mystery of the "others" is ruining the feeling of the show. They're no longer haunting. They're just unknown. After 35 or so episodes of "others" it's just getting a pain as it seems like their integral to the islands purpose.

Best?

Better than Desmond's time traveling flashback?

Acutally I think Locke pressed 77 because the way it was said by the Dharma guy gave the impression that the headquarters might have to intervene, therefore saving everybody from the island.
