Now thats what you call an upgrade! You have missed the 3D touch generation phones. Wish I could do something similar but I get too excited every September.

She's a keeper that's for sure.

I am also really enjoying my silver 128 GB 13 Pro Max. I upgraded from a 64 GB iPhone 6S+. The 13 Prp Max is an amazing piece of kit. I got my on 9/24. Charged it up to 100% around 7:30pm. I have been using it a lot to make phone call, surf internet, watch videos, texting, etc. it is now 12:22 am Sunday morning and I still have 56% battery left. The battery life is insanely good on this phone. It will be interesting to see how the battery life after Apple fixes the core animations bug in iOS 15.
Battery life wise can I be out all day in town with 5g and brightness say 80% up and still not be worried about it dying?

Definitely a much needed improvement over prior models I like what Apple has done with the 13 and this is coming from a android user most of the time. I am putting it thru it’s paces to see if I like the 13 better than the S21 I am currently using.
Just saw a article that says the 13 beats out the S21 ultra which is a very nice surprise.
The promotion feature is awesome along with the new cameras I especially like the face unlock unlike the FPC on my 21 sucks no more fighting the dam screen to get it to accept my fingerprint.

iPhone 7 would likely not get iOS 16, iPhone 8 just might. That is when I begin to feel it is now 'time' to upgrade.
I was really surprised that this year the 6S+ was included in the list of phones for iOS 15. Last year the iPhone 6 was not in the list and this year I thought it would be the 6S+. So it is not certain that the 7 won’t be included in the list of phones that can get iOS 16.

I went from Pro Max to Pro this year. Had the XS Max, 11 Pro Max and the 12 Pro Max. But I am so happy to be back to the pro, especially now theres feature parity. I think it’s either an age or lifestyle thing, but just feels good to have a phone that feels like a phone for once, and not an iPad mini lol.

Pro Max is a great phone, especially if you want that extra bit of battery life and that giant screen!

Wut! 6s+ got iOS 15? That is stonking, to say the least! In that light, the iPhone 7 might get iOS 16. If it does, I think I may want to put a hold on the upgrade, despite my getting a serious itch this year, primarily because I write software guides and have to make do with screenshots from Xcode or Apple marketing material, and I think it might be faster to get the feature screenshots directly from the newer device! 😅

Other than that, I do not feel a need to let go of my 8 just yet. I do not shoot with it, I don't game on it, I only use it for calling and some streaming and some videos using VLC, some music (streaming and otherwise), reading books through Kindle and content on Medium, browsing the internet and lastly using my banking and productivity apps. For that kind of usage, both the 7 and 8 still shine bright, without a slowdown, and I do not quite see the point of spending nearly USD 1,000 even for a 13 mini in my country.

My father still uses an iPhone 3G 😅, still going strong! Trying to get him to upgrade! He’s worried about losing everything on his phone even though I’ve assured him he won’t

I doubt even Apple would assure him that he won't. Anything could go wrong in the process. Maybe try with setting ups. spare device with his iCloud and Apple ID to show him how the data transfers, so he can gain some confidence and allow you to finally put that 3GS to bed.

Coming from an iPhone 11, of course the jump isn’t as significant as the OP’s but I am thrilled with this device. Was a little sceptical a few weeks back when thinking about getting a Max but after seeing the 12 PM in store I was convinced. After using the 13 PM over the weekend I can say I made the right choice. The additional screen space is great and that’s without mentioning ProMotion, the camera and battery.

I’m on an iPhone X right now and battery health is horrendous (76%). Debating between replacing battery or going for 13PM.

Has replacing the battery made much difference?
Yes, feels like a new phone! I didn't realize how bad my battery was until I got home after the replacement and used it. If you're thinking of keeping your X, I'd highly recommend the new battery, you won't regret it

If you have an iPhone 8, X, or older, it’s time to upgrade

Eh…I have a seven plus and I can get to any internet site I want. I can check all my email across many platforms. I can take, save and share very nice looking pictures with anyone I want. I can place phone calls and receive texts from everyone. I can buy about five of these phones for the price of the latest and greatest. I honestly don’t see it the way you do. I mean there are plenty of reasons to upgrade and heck I would like a new phone it just isn’t on the radar right now. Anyone that wants the latest phone go for it but it isn’t really a necessity whatsoever.

I just used Apple Pay for the first time on my 13 Pro Max. The 13 is an astounding phone with how fast it does what you want. Using my 13 Pro Max for Apple Pay, I could not believe how fast it was. By the time I had double clicked the side button to activate Apple Pay, the phone was unlocked and ready for Apple Pay. And the speed at which Apple Pay competed was fantastic. Everything is so fluid, smooth and executes quickly, I mean really quickly. Of course, I am coming for the iPhone 6S+. My wife has got the 12 Pro Max and I did play around with it but the 13 Pro Max seems to have a better user experience with the 120 Hz display. FaceID is a marvel with how fast it can scan my face and unlock the phone. It feels instantaneous.

On my first iPhone 13 Pro Max version. Always just had the smaller Pro til now. This phone is amazing! Impressed.
This is me. I've always preferred the smaller versions but this year I'm thinking of going with the Pro Max. How is it? I'm only worried about fitting it into my pockets as I don't casually carry bags with me when going out.

It’s bigger for sure. Fits in my pockets. Takes more space? Yes. But I honestly don’t mind it. For this kind of screen size and battery life?!? I haven’t even charged it since yesterday morning. Still 45% left lol.

Battery life on my 13 Pro Max is insane. I have just over 6hrs on-screen time and 76% battery left. Last time I went over 48 hours before I needed to charge and that was at 20% battery left.

I’m getting under 5 hours with 60% battery left, very little screen off usage and all of the common battery hog settings disabled. 30-50% brightness. Wi-Fi usage only :(

You're going to LOVE this upgrade. I tend to upgrade yearly, and I find that some years just have that wow factor and some don't. Don't get me wrong, every model every year is a pretty miraculous piece of tech. But iPhones are typically very iterative devices.

It's just that sometimes the iteration is crazy good and this is one of those times. It's a classic Apple one-two punch going from series 12 to series 13 that reminds me of 4-->4S or 5-->5S. In fact, it makes me wish even more that they'd called it the 12S instead of the 13. (I imagine "12S Pro Max" would have been a bridge too far even for Apple.)

If you had upgraded last year you would have been blown away by the new brand new design, the impossibly fast SoC, the OLED screen, the great battery life, etc. By waiting yet again until this year, you have all the great stuff about last year with legitimately amazing and instantly noticeable upgrades of the screen, cameras, and battery YET AGAIN.

You picked a good year to take that old iPhone out of rotation, my friend. I hope you have as great a time with it as I've already had with mine so far.
