But isn't KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo the one that as a general consensus "most" people on MacRumors have regarded him as "the most reliable"?

I think his point was that the 'prediction' is so vague and generlistic that its almost useless, and pretty much tells us what we already could have reasonably guessed.

i would never guessed that the imac refresh will be in august. and iPhone with ipad in the same month

Inofficial Lightning cables are already available - crappy 3rd-party chargers won't take long to appear on the market.
Yes, you're correct, but a lot of folks won't take the risk of using unofficial Lightning products. But the faster they drop the 30-pin, the better for everyone going forward. More users on Lightning means more accessories, maybe at lower prices.

That will take a couple of years to come into effect though, as devs will have to continue to support existing devices.
Again, you're correct, but Apple has to cut the cord on the 3.5" screens sometime. The sooner the better.

Cracked/shattered backs usually don't fall under warranty. Apart from that imho the problem is not the back, which you can easily swap yourself with a cheap e**y replacement. Problem is the front with digitizer and all. That probably won't change with a plastic back.
Apple has replaced a lot of shattered screens over the years under warranty. Sure, they may not do it as much anymore, but they do. Also, Apple took a huge $$$ money hit on warranty issues in China last quarter. The warranty rules are different in other countries than they are in the US.

Bottom line - It's very likely that Apple wants to drop the 4/4S as soon as possible.

It would have to be free on contract. All this is really doing is replacing the iPhone 4/4s. There will still be a mid level iPhone (the 5) at $99. The new 5S will be the same 649/199 w/ contract.

----------

Isn't the iPhone 4 $450 without contract? How isn't that a low cost option (assuming the new low cost one is in fact, $450)?

iPhone 4 is very old, all things considered. The "low cost iPhone" will likely have [mostly] more modern iPhone 5 components.

----------

The flagship model is not $299. (If you are saying 299 is the average then you have to use the average for the color iphones too.)

I said it will likely be free - $99 (16GB - 32GB), depending on storage capacity, which is $200 cheaper than flagship models (at $200 for 16GB and $300 for 32GB).

I just want a blue iPhone with the option of 64GB+ of storage, a relatively speedy processor on par with the iPhone 5 (maybe with slightly better battery life), and a decent camera. That is all I want.

Everybody say/said that the optical drive was the weakest part of the iMac, so they eliminate that thinking in the future

Plus, why would Apple miss an opportunity to release the iPad Mini Retina before Christmas and release in the second quarter of next year?

May be the technology is not ready? Part of the problem of putting together a cutting edge device is that technology may not match with Apple's schedule. Apple probably will sell 15-20M unit of Ipad mini retina in the launch quarter. Can you imagine the challenge of producing that many cutting edge LCD display panel in 2 to 3 months time frame to match up with the manufacturing schedule?
