At the Apple Store, yes. But take a look at any of the retailers (Macmall, ClubMac, Amazon, MacConnection, etc.)--they all have no iMacs in stock.

wont be long before the iMacs on the apple store start to show 1-3 days..

I the UK the apple store is still on 24 shipping for iMac and mini.. for now :D

I'd buy a new iMac and connect your nice monitor to it. Nothing better then having two nice monitors side by side :)

I was thinking of doing that too, but it really depends on what the price of the 24in iMac would be. Since I have to sell my Macbook pro to buy the next one.

If they upgrade the mini and it gives a new performance boost, then I would do the mini with all my upgrades to it, and have a really nice performing mini.

I'm aiming for about a 30% performance increase to get me to upgrade.

Apple Reseller Store is showing 2-3 weeks for both flavors of the base Mac Mini. iMac's & plastic macbooks are still showing 3-5 business days

I almost forgot the current mini has 1 GB ram. Welcome to 2004.

and what is up with the 120GB HD's?

Minimum in everything should be 250/320 GB (Whichever is cheaper bought in mass with an option for 500GB now.

Dying to buy anything to upgrade all my Mac's.

..............but will hold out for BlueRay

Read someplace that the following strategy is best , if one can avoid the head games new stuff plays with our brains:)

Get a new Mac top = of the line (It will be bottom within 2-3 years)

Get AppleCare

When Apple Care is up (3 years) do the same again.

You'll always have a MAC that is in warranty and the by then "proven" new features/technologies"

Waiting impatiently to be disappointed:)

I wonder how Apple has been able to maintain the momentum on an all-in-one.

Maybe because the iMac line has not been the "Bag of Fail" since the original launch that pundits claim it is...

When I switched, I had an HP desktop with a Dell 20" monitor so I needed an Apple desktop and a 24" monitor. The newly-launched Al iMac struck me as a solid way to get a new monitor and a new Mac desktop and not having shedload of cables lying all over my desk appealed to me, as well. It worked great for me.

I'm now on a MacBook Pro with a Dell 2408 (not as good as an ACD or the iMac's display, but plenty "good enough" for my needs) and the only real wish I had was for a faster CPU for video conversions.

So what did I do?

Bought a dirt-cheap SFF quad-core PC that I use solely for that purpose. When I don't need it, I just leave it in my closet in it's carrying case. And what's even better, is that because that work is handled on another computer, I'm not slowing down my main system since video conversion is very CPU-intensive.

I just ordered an iMac yesterday. Nothing really fishy about shipping time or anything else for that matter. I did talk to an Apple rep yesterday concerning my order, they did not know anything about the supply constraints or the new updates....does not surprise me. I guess I can play the guinea pig.....I will let you guys know what happens with my order.

It looks like you picked a Build to order (custom) iMac? If so I don't think it will ship.

If you order an off the shelf one I suspect Apple has enough stock left to handle orders for a little while yet.

Yep, I opted for ati over nvidia.....that is the only thing I changed. We'll see what happens with it. I'll report if anything changes....

gutsy move! will be interesting to see what happens.

Undoubtedly so! I had planned on buying this model after returning from Kuwait....here I am. If they roll something else out next week as everyone speculates.....could be interesting. If anything changes with my order, I'll post it back here to keep some people's finger-nails from being chewed off in anticipation.......

It's ridiculous yes, but i bought one with 1Gig and i can tell you its very slow and unresponsive, not worth it to have only 1Gig. upgraded to 4Gigs yesterday and what a change.

Well maybe this is bad news or just news. As I stated in the above thread, The iMac that I ordered yesterday has shipped. I figured being this close to the rumored new macs. I would either get what I ordered, which is what I have wanted all summer or I would get a delayed shipping and get a new iMac. Maybe this shed some light of when the new iMac/Mac Mini's would be released or maybe not. I figured I would post it in this thread has seen a lot of traffic.

It is time to give the Mac mini a refreshed look. It has been so long. I am really looking forward to a more home theatre centric mini in the near future. Also the FrontRow is still unable to select different audio channels.

I dont know where you're looking that you see the shipping date slipped for imacs but I see the usual within 24hrs for 3 out of the 4 models. Oh and btw your link doesnt work so well.

That link was probably referring to the education store, where the iMac has indeed slipped to 2 weeks. This is not a new development today however.

What is the usual shipping timeframe for the education store? Our employee purchase store site mirrors what the applestore site does as well.

Apple seems to reduce their MacBook to $699. In order to do that, they are actually package Mac mini into the packaging. LOL.
That probably also explains why Mac mini is low on stock!
Proof:
<snap of apple store ad for MacBook which states that a Mac Mini is "in the box">
Apple Store: http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB402LL/A?mco=MTExOTk1MTE

Dang - Now I know where all those discontinued Mac Minis went to -- into the package boxes of refurb MacBooks!

wonder if that means you get both -- buy a MacBook refurb, get a MacBook and a free Mac Mini included to boot. LOL :D

I see the same times as you, but when I switch to the educational store (teaching has its perks), I see 2 week shipping across the board.

Does Apple allocate stock for educational customers?
