You Apple fan boys are the biggest group of lunatic losers I have ever seen in my entire life! What sane person actually has the time to study and research the shipping dates of an item to see it if it has slipped or not.

If I were to ever catch my self analyzing the shipping date of a computer I would run not walk to the nearest mental clinic and have myself checked in for evaluation

This obsession that you guys have clearly border lines on having a serious mental illness.

And you're checking this board why???

Yeah...This is all in good fun. I have actually learned quite a bit from this forum so don't take everything so seriously. Clearly we are all excited about the updates and want to see what everyone else has heard or seen. So, let's keep the peace and just have fun! If you don't like what you read, than just ignore it :)

And yet, here you are, in the deep end of the pool with us - telling us that we're all getting wet. :)

Welcome to the insane asylum. It's way more fun in here. :D

setting aside this issue of why you are here with such disdain, there is a very practical reason for such an 'obsession'

money.

yeah, you heard me.

if I'm about to lay down $2000 on a computer system it would be nice not to have it trumped a month later by a system for the same or a lower price with better specs. especially when the company putting out the system has only a 2 week policy on returns and price adjustments.

and given that by tradition, Apple has done something with their computers around this time of year, the risk of the above is greater. shipping dates are one way to tell of supplies are limited, perhaps due to a sell down to make room for something new.

I love it how these Mac bashers get on a Mac board and proceed to rag on everyone! Yet, here they are! What does that tell you? Jealosy that they didn't buy a Mac? :p

Wow, what a great post. I have to fully agree.
Some of there guys gets orgasm every time, as soon as they find out, that the shipping date is not the usual, as it should.

Excuse me if this has already been mentioned, but the higher end mac mini's shipping time frame has shifted from 24 hours to 1-3 days as well. Could this mean the whole mac mini line-up may be getting a bump? :D

People do know that there is a 2.0GHZ Mac Mini and a 2.26GHZ Mac Mini right now, right?

I've got the high end model. It has a slight CPU speed bump.

I totally agree, if I can save some money, then believe me I will. And thats the main reason I check these particular threads. :):)

It will be interesting to see how the new iMac competes with the Gateway ZX6810 all in one, though it is a windblows machine its touchscreen, ATi's HD4670 and built in TV tuner makes you say hmmm!

It's very nice for the price. Windows Media Center under Windows 7 alongside with the TV Tuner is sweetens the package too.

The tripod/easel package is becoming a bit more common compared to the monopod.

i still don't understand the appeal of touch screen on a desktop computer. a tablet sure, but I'd get carpal tunnel the way I work trying to use a touch screen. i'd end up hooking up a mouse or my pen tablet.

as for the rest, we'll see what happens when the next new imac comes out.

things I noticed right off when I looked up the specs on the Gateway site

1. no Blu-ray drive. I thought everyone but Apple was on board with that one.

2. max res on the display is under the current 24" imac and only slightly better than the 20"

3.hard drive is 5400 v the 7200 which is native in all current imacs

4. no firewire (yeah yeah esata is faster but what about those legacy externals you have, and your cameras etc

5. bit sad that someone is listing Draft-N on the wifi considering that the N spec was finalized like 6 weeks ago.

Gone abit quiet guys, wasnt the Unibody macbook show this time last year?

It could be nothing until Jan now, except for the annual Christmas Discount.
