How have any of you managed to sell your iPad with all these lowballers on there?

All I am getting is $300-$350 offers, which i just ignore :(

You're selling a 16GB wifi iPad, right? The one in your sig?

I'd say that $350 is a good price. How is that a low ball for a used item that originally cost $499?

Pretty much a buyer's market right now with a lot of people trying to unload and get ready for the announcements next week. The market is being flooded and that will always bring costs down some.

my feeling is that an electronic device loses 20% of its value the second you open the box. That means warranty doesn't transfer and you give up your right to return.

Add that its a year old with new announcements around the corner, I'd say 350 is MORE than fair.

now that the 1 yr Apple Waranty is completely transferable that's total BS. Apple products retain 80% of original value if kept in good to excellent condition. I sold 2 unlocked 16gb 3GS's after the iPhone 4 release and I got almost $400 for each of them.

I sold a 32gb wifi only for 475 2 days ago. in Socal. thats about 79% of its orginal price.

You do realize that people who are looking to buy an iPad want it cheaper than can be had in retail($429 for refurb 16gb) right?n

How much do you actually expect to get? What is your asking price?
Apple's refurbs kick @$$. If I can get the same product refurbed for $430, you can't realistically expect to be offered any more than $390-ish for one that shows wear, tear, and has an unknown history.

I don't know why someone would pay you that much for a 3GS when the iphone 4 came out in the first place. You got extremely lucky. They were worth about $200-$250 at that point. You have to consider that a phone albeit smaller is WAYYY more of an asset than an ipad. Seriously, an ipad is basically a luxury item-no matter what need you see for it. The iphone is still more valuable to most people.

With an iphone I can tether (don't need to get a 3g connection on the ipad either), talk on the phone without an internet connection, run apps, surf the web, do business on the go (even in another country), etc. Essentially all the things an ipad can do with slightly more versatility.

If someone is offering you $350 I'd take it and run because I don't think at this point anybody should be paying more than $300 for a used 16gb wifi ipad. Sorry.

Well when it includes the apple case+camera kit, I think that's pretty low.

sold 2 16 wifi today got 400 each.I had lowballers i just delete them.

both sold in 2 days from placing ad on CL

Sold my 16GB + Apple case for $525 CDN (to a software programmer that I was surprised gave me my asking price). I'd paid $549 and $40 for both (plus tax) and considered that a decent sale.

Had to shoot down a lot of $300 offers, trades, etc.

Craigslist is the most expensive place for apple stuff. I was looking for a MBP unibody and people wanted anywhere from 1300-1700 for a 2.53 C2D. I told them I can get a i5 for 1550 on apple, then they smart off.

Maybe its just my area here in missouri but here craigslist is a seller's market for apple stuff.

Especially when selling Apple gear, timing is everything since Apple's product cycles are quite predictable.

I sold mine fast, weeks ago, for a price equalling more than 88%. Today I'd never get close to that.

Not as many people as you might think, are aware of the refurb program.

Sold my 16GB wifi for $400, too. It came with all the stuff that came in a box and a $2 silicone case that I said costed $20. :D

I think it depends on where you try to sell it too. In the city, buyers just have way too many options to give you your asking price.

Wait until the new iPad is unveiled next Wednesday. It won't be much of an upgrade from the current one, and the price of used iPad 1's will rise again. You'll be able to get $400 used for it as long as Apple doesn't lower the price of the new iPad's. Ignore the lowballers, there are ALWAYS lowballers.

But why get rid of it now and not when it actually comes out. Or at least gets announced?

Unlocked 3GS 32GB was worth $800 in some countries after iPhone 4 came out.

iPad 16GB is another story, especially with refurb at $429. $300 is too low.
