Every Lucid Air electric vehicle now comes standard with wireless CarPlay from Apple, Lucid Motors announced today. With wireless CarPlay support, Lucid Air owners who are iPhone users will see their iPhone connect to CarPlay automatically when entering the car without the need to plug in.

CarPlay provides access to Apple Maps, Apple Music, Messages, and more, with the CarPlay interface mirroring the iPhone interface for an intuitive experience that's immediately recognizable to iPhone owners.

The Lucid Air from Lucid Motors was voted the 2022 MotorTrend Car of the Year because of its "level of innovation and sophistication." It is a luxury electric vehicle priced starting at $87,400 for the Pure version.

I love my Lucid Air and am happy about CarPlay however I am disappointed that Lucid did not implement dual screen support so no turn by turn directions on the main screen like we have when using Lucid's own nav. They also did not implement SOC information so no Apple Maps EV navigation. ATMOS support is TBD. Hopefully I get the update shortly!

Since Apple did not acquire Tesla. Imagine if Apple had acquired Lucid Motors. Apple should just buy Lucid Motors.

How much would Apple have to pay before the Saudi's agree to let it go when they [Saudi's Public Investment Fund] own around two-thirds of Lucid, $42.00 🌿 a share? 😃

Ive got one, and a Tesla model Y. The Tesla is a better electric car. The air is a lot more comfortable though. Excited for carplay. Hope to have the update when i get back home this weekend.

What do you find better about the Tesla?

Im curious what you like better about the Tesla? As friends with both, it seems the Lucid is a much better vehicle with much better build quality.

I always thought Lucid Motors seems more premium, elegant and classy. Better build quality compare to Tesla's. Teslas are cool too. I don't want to make anyone mad, lol. So I'm going to be neutral.

The option would be good for those who want it, but I think Tesla’s UI is as good or better. Except the messages app, which is awful.
Of course not everyone is going to use it but I don’t see a reason why it’s not an option. It’s 2023 and you can get CarPlay in a Toyota Corolla. It’s not just for high-end cars anymore.

Perhaps there are some UI requirements that Tesla doesn’t want to go by when it comes to CarPlay. I can imagine how Tim is when it comes to it’s my way or no way and I suspect Elon is just the same so it’s two stubborn people butting heads.

So What?
I've had wireless Apple Car Play on my BMW 540i for 5 years, it's not new tech or innovative
