Aint that the truth. Props for resisting though and knowing you dont need it

I felt similarly, I was already up when preorders went up and still looked at it but ruled it out

for me its more of a cosmetic upgrade than a practical one. and im not moaning about the current m1 aesthetic I like classic looking Macs
I ordered one at the preorder launch even though I said I wasn't going to upgrade from my m1.... A few days later common sense (and my credit card bill) made me cancel the order...:confused::confused::confused::confused::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Well the thing is, you have a perfectly good computer so you don’t have to rush. If all the reviews and user comments on the M2 Air are good, you can place an order later on. There might be a wait due to the usual supply chain issues we seem to be having these days. But at least you won’t have made an impulse purchase without knowing exactly what you’re getting with the redesign and the new chip plus any unforeseen issues yet to be revealed.

I think the M2 Air will be a fantastic upgrade and I would imagine the redesign includes anything that is needed to address any excess heat that the new M2 puts out over and above what the M1 does. But with the amount of money involved, it’s nice to have some solid information to work with rather than hopes and speculation.

No regrets on my M1 MBA here either.
I’m enjoying the M2 Air hype and review though. New product releases are fun. I’m looking forward to everyone’s show and tell of their new M2 Airs.

Lol but I’m so glad my needs were such that I didn’t need to pay what the M2 Air costs for a 1 TB drive. I WILL use that space and I am glad I was able to get it for less than I originally planned when I was speccing out the M2 Air in the Apple Store app. After I bought my M1 Air one of my cats needed an unplanned vet visit so I am glad I didn’t spend more than I needed to on my Mac. (And kitty is doing great).

I couldn't buy a near 2 year old machine, apple refurb price is more than edu price here, so only saving about $150AUD off retail from 2 years ago

Similar thought process to me. I decided that with the savings (I bought a used M1 MBA off swappa) I could afford 16GB and 512GB SSD. Still saved. :)

Some awesome used M1s around. I got a base M1 MBA in SG delivered for $1100aud (740usd tax in) a few months ago bought off of a developer who underestimated his needs - only 8 charge cycles, in brand new condition and just under 2 months old, so I was able to put an annual applecare on it. There are deals to be had!!

has Touch Bar - most see as a con
doesnt have full height function keys

doesnt have magsafe
doesnt have Midnight color
doesnt have high impedance headphone jack
doesnt have 1080p camera
doesnt have dual USB-c charger
doesnt have 13.6"

2022 13.3" MBP is a bust imo unless you get a steep discount
doesn’t have -0.3 lb weight.

I could of got one a few months ago for $800AUD only a few months old

Oh wow! Where do you keep finding these deals?!? 🤣 I thought I was good… but you seem to be a tad bit better 😂 why didn’t you end up jumping on that?

Although it did work out… you’ve scored quite the beauty now… 😉
I buy and sell apple products off Facebook or gumtree here, mainly iPhones, getting harder to do now. Wasn't sure I wanted a air, plenty up for sale now for similar price.
