I joke that he left in the middle of designing this iMac. That is why it doesn't have colored in bezels and is missing the logo in the front!Maybe Jony Ive leaving was a bad thing
This iMac is presented in a 4:3 format to preserve the integrity of Apple’s creative vision. Why do those screens have 4:3 aspect ratio? 😂
iMac Pro is dead now, hence why they’ve reduced the mouse/keyboard/trackpad space grey price.I really wish they had released the iMac Pro models at the same time as the new iMac, just so we can see what the alternative is, i don't like the front of the new iMac, but i get some do, but i would be happier if i knew what the Pro looked like. If i had got a new desktop i would likely get the Mac Mini + Monitor as at least that does not look horrific from the front.
This is simply not true. You can boot from a Thunderbolt 3 drive e.g. a Samsung X5.Did you know that if the machines SSD drive internally fails you cannot both machine with a external device.
Then again, maybe the pixels aren't square4480x2520 is 16:9
4480/2520=1.7777777778
16/9= 1.7777777778
Huzzah!
Ps. 4/3= 1.333333
I wonder if it's been mentioned on CompuServe yet.Stopped reading after "generated lots of interest on TikTok"
Put it on the back of your car and make people think you’ve got a prototype Apple CarWhat do folk do with the stickers? I can't find a use...
Yeah I came to the conclusion long ago that there's not really a compelling reason to get an iMac instead of a MacBook. At some point you're going to want to pick it up and take it somewhere... I traded in my iMac for a less powerful MacBook Air in 2012 and never looked back.Have to pass on iMac (and all in ones) altogether. Once (after spending 4K or more) was enough for me. With mini led or oled monitors coming out this year, that’s probably the route I’ll take later.
This replaces the 21.5 iMac...how do you not understand this? It isn't a downsize, it's an upsize lol.I DO NOT GET IT.
are they downsizing the iMac until it becomes an ipad or laptop?
smaller screen size. I was hoping for larger. certainly not smaller
colors? why? may appeal to a home decorator
speed. fine
Thin and light means it costs them less to fly / ship them from their foreign manufacturers. If Apple makes the box smaller and the item lighter you can pack more in the same space saving transport costs. Sure, as the individual buyer, you can't see it. But, Apple shipping millions of them, the savings adds up.I just don’t get the reasoning behind the thin and light thing… did apple seriously think customers would be excited with how thin and light it is for that one time they remove it out of the box and put it on a desk probably throughout its lifetime… I get thinness and lightness for mobile devices but not for a desktop.
There was too many draw backs for a very minimal gain.
It should have been thicker to allow the chin to be removed, black or white bezels is a matter of preference but for me no chin would look better with black bezels.
Yes, but that is the intended audience.Stopped reading after "generated lots of interest on TikTok"
Great point. Such a shame they have stopped developing Macs and there will never be any others made after this release. It would be so much easier to appreciate the existence of this new iMac if they hadn't left everyone else out in the cold who needs a larger and higher performance version...that isn't pastel.
