Apple TV remote just arrived for me in Australia. Early review:

It’s good. It’s better. It’s only as good as it should have been to begin with.

It’s hard to describe but the 5 button click pad is also a trackpad which works the same way as it did on the old remote.

Buttons feel a bit cheap. It wasnt cheap.

Having click pad, click wheel and trackpad gives heaps of flexibility.

Mute and power buttons are great additions.

What's the resale value of an iPad with your name engraved on it? Just curious.

Depends on the name. According to studies (not really) the engravement "handsome lad" or "gorgeous lady" go well with higher margins in the second hand market. Meanwhile, specific names are often a minus, except for "John Doe" or "Jimmy", "Bobby", "Bob", etc... common names essentially.

Fair answer: of course it lowers your resell value. But by how much I have no idea - and I could care less about that engraving and left did not get it since it is on the backside anyways - how often are you going to look at it, especially if the iPad is in a case/keyboard cover?

I was thinking of having a unicorn, dolphin, and the year in Roman numerals engraved. 🙃 Someone else might enjoy that, as it’s not a name, but rather whimsical creatures and the year. Though I wish there were more in the way of symbols which could be engraved.

Comparing the headphone jack to VHS is crazy. VHS is legacy tech which is now obsolete. The auxiliary cable, on the over hand, isn’t going anywhere. Bluetooth can replace the headphone jack if all you need it for is casual music, podcasts, or other personal entertainment. However, it can be very useful when plugging into PA systems and other AV work.

Disney+ needs to be updated as it uses its own video wrapper. The scrolling works fine on other apps (Netflix/TV for instance)
