I find 4K i s mandatory for 27 inch display. At this size, you only have 163 ppi, which is still far from the 218 ppi of a retina display. 1080p on 27 inch will look disgusting, incredibly pixelated. My U2414H, which is 24 inch 1080P, already look pixelated as hell and it was one of the highest end displays at that time at Dell. I can’t even imagine 27 inch at 1080p. The best recommendation I could give you is save your money, don’t buy this sh*tty thing, wait a bit and take an affordable Dell S2721QS 4k 27 inch monitor. You won’t regret this decision, trust me !!! Two years running an awfull monitor can be very, very long.

@pldelisle Actually I got money, if I go with S2721QS and base M1 Mac Mini, still I'll be saving more than 1k $. I just didn't want to spend more on a temporary thing.
The other problem is that I simply couldn't find a glossy monitor like iMac's screen.

I’m not aware of glossy screens either. Every Dell Ultrasharp has mat finish, same for LG (Dell uses LG panels). The iMac is the only computer which has glossy finish as far as I know.

I’ve told you my recommendations. After, it’s up to you. Just saying that 1080p on 27 inch is a big mistake.

Yeah, full hd resolution on 27" will be crap after 5k iMac and I have just looked over 850 monitor listings today and found a dell u2419h and a u2720q. Both are unopened, 24" model is full hd and 27" model is 4k but costs three times the small one. I'll decide probably on one of them within 2 days.

To have a 1080p on 24 inch U2414h, it’s sure a nice high quality display, but it stays a 1080p with a ~95 PPI which looks awful next to my MBP 15 Retina (even if it dates back from 2013).

That's your opinion, and yours only.

For me, 27" @ 1080p works just fine.
But my eyes are older (into my 8th decade now).
For me, the "clarity" of text is less important than THE SIZE.

I also have a 13" MacBook Pro with a retina display.
Small text is no easier for me to read on a retina display, than on a non-retina display...

Size of text can be scaled to reach the same size as it looks on 27’’ 1080p. BUT you benefit from increased text clarity. It’s a total win-win. Same can be done on your 13’’ MBP. But you can’t benefit from these two characteristics at the same time on a 27’’ 1080p. You only get the text size you want without the increased sharpness in text. So that’s a no brainer.

I just purchased the LG 27UL650-W from Amazon for $380. It is a really nice display on my Windows machine. I have not received my Mini yet so I can't provide any input. I do hope HDR works better on Big Sur vs Windows 10. When I use HDR mode in Windows, It is so bright it hurts the eyes. When I look at color charts, the red and blue are all the same shade for the last 1/4 section of the color bars.
