Actually I think the Intel Mac Mini does the same over TB/Display Port,
only on HDMI it works reliably.

And my 2012. I thought it was just me...
Similar but with different monitor. My only issue is crashes in... TextEdit. Resizing windows and scrolling often causes TextEdit to crash. The shame of it is that TextEdit is the most basic of apps and should have been the first for Apple to get right.I have a M1 Mac mini 16/1TB and a 32 Samsung 4k monitor...ZERO issues.
Has it been confirmed that two Apple displays don’t have this problem?Oh my gosh yes!![]()
Cause it's the steaming pile of horse crap. Easily the worst OSX edition since OSX 10.0 For a last few OS releases it's been the case that every new iteration of OSX has been slightly worse than the predecessor as in it introduced more bugs than it solved problems but Big Sur absolutely takes the cake and smashes it on the floor. Then it pisses on it.
Big Sur is what's crippling M1 machines and somehow they even managed to even cripple Intel stuff that used to work properly. I'm not optimistic how Apple will get out of this. I didn't update none of my Macs to Big Sur because I have M1 Big Sur and I could tell right away the real problem is OS which is a bug hive and to make it even worse Apple has stalled delivering timely updates and solutions. Seems like they are stuck.
Yeah my 2014 handles both my Asus 4K and 1080p monitors with no issues at all, including waking. My 2018 Mac mini can’t seem to wake the 4K for the life of it. I have to manually hit the input button for the 4K monitor to wake up. It’s really quite frustrating that my morning routine has been reduced to a keyboard tap and power button press...
Mine too this afternoon. It's done it a couple times in the past month that I've had it. I've never had issues with earlier Minis I've had. I wonder if it's Big Sur?
I have the same setup - only with a MBPro... Same issues as you.I have this issue often with my M1 Air that I use everyday with my Caldigit TB3 dock. It works about 90% of the time, the other 10% it will "wake" the display for a half second, before it turns off and nothing will happen. I found my best bet is to open the display on the Air, unplug, then replug the dock, then close the lid (I'm using it in clamshell mode.)
I thought it was some dock/monitor incompatibility issue...but I guess not.
You’re right...thanks for the correction.As I understand it 4k60 is only available on MBP 13 (4 Ports) for 2020 and newer models… (See https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MUF82AM/A/usb-c-digital-av-multiport-adapter )
