PSA: If anyone wants tasteful rounded corners on a non-notch Mac, you can use Displaperture.
Wonderful tool, keeps the menu bar vertical space compact, and the radius can be adjusted in all four corners.
I’m glad we can start discussing this redesigned MBA in detail finally. IMHO it’s a stretch to refer to it as a near perfect Mac compared to the slightly more expensive 14” MBP that the base model is on sale this week.

iJustine (yeah I know) does do a nice size comparison with a bunch of the other MacBooks including the 14" Pro (starting at 6:22)

This is important. From what we've seen of the Max Tech reviews, the M2 13" Pro sustained was actually worse in a lot of cases compared to the M1 13" Pro, right? I am afraid for the M2 Air due to that discovery. Eagerly awaiting Max Tech's reviews.

Dave2D's is a well balanced and honest initial review, I thought.
Geekbench only measures theoretical, unsustained performance. In practical graphics-intensive tests, the 10-core MBA delivers 73% the performance of the 10-core MBP.

Would be great if it didn't have a 13 inch display? A 16" is more suitable for productivity.
I wish the benchmarks compared it to the base model 14" MBP. In terms of $, that seems like the next best competition.
Slap a 15” screen on it and take my money, Apple!

No worries. It was more a post about how those smaller issues become more important than the performance of the CPU and as so people won’t upgrade.
But yes, I know the keyboard issue was a big one for many. 😁

'Near-Perfect' is a hilarious way to positively re-frame imperfect
My 2018 MBA was in the comparison, was some difference comparing to M2, yup!
Will be a good lift for my portable once I upgrade next time. I actually don't need a lot of power in it for what I use it for.
But it was noticeable when I waited for my Studio for sure.
Good to know that Apple upgrades all the time
Edit: The colors are nice on these, but not super nice. The gold on my MBA is much nicer. Looks rosegold in some lights and just golden in other lights.
