I have the M2 mini with 16GB Ram but I’m really looking forward to the M4 mini. Single core speed is insane

I don't know how I feel about that…
Hopefully it will still run macOS.

The Minis I have used (and still use) have been stellar capable machines.

I’ve been eyeing a Mac Mini with a M2 Pro and 32GB of memory to replace my M1 Mac Mini. I don’t really care if it’s smaller. The current design is fine. But I’ll wait and see what they come up with.

I’m sure that was the very top complaint about the Mac mini … its size. ?!?

Honestly couldn’t make it up.

I would have thought more people would care about a) ports & connectivity and b) timely updates to mini line , not stagnation like what seems to keep happening to both iMac and mini line.

But no … it’s to reduce its size.

The size of this little thing is fine.

But extra ports and RAM / SSD upgradeability is highest on my list.

M-series chips have been great. Haven't even felt the need to upgrade my M1 iMac yet, it still plenty fast for my light productivity.

I never did buy a Mac mini, though if you've got a bunch of third party gear like monitors and gaming mouses or the like, it probably is a very suitable option.

I wonder if Apple may only put the M4 in the new design and not the M4 Pro. They’ll could make the new design fanless and perhaps keep the older design for the M4 Pro. I just hope they don’t get rid of an M4 Pro option on the Mac Mini.

As the Mac Mini and Studio share the overall design, I wonder what this means for the M4 Studio that will be released in 2025? Similar changes so M4 Mini and M4 Studio will look similar again or no change at all except for the M4 chipset?

What real advantage is there to it being smaller? You still need monitor, keyboard etc.

My guess is that the keyboard will be the Mac mini.
