Dongle hell round 2 here we come. Would not be surprised if they drop the ethernet port on the base model.
I'm not sure about this one. There's also a M2 Pro Mac Mini now, so if there's an M4 Pro, it won't be fanless.Let me guess.....fanless.
It has been this way for four years already, and with Apple Silicon, RAM is part of the chip (the SoC), so it was going to be all soldered anyways…means soldered ram and HD
And worse thermal performance leading to clock speed reductions. When I read smaller, I think fewer ports on the back which would be bad.
Of course. Just like with the iPad ProLet me guess.....fanless.
OOoOoOo...bring back the Commodore Ultimax, the OG computer in a keyboard machine. My guess is that the keyboard will be the Mac mini.
I think file this under, "Surly Apple will not mess this up also."File this under "can't wait". 😎
Of course. You may not know that Apple Silicon (M- 1,2,3,4) has RAM and Storage inside the package.means soldered ram and HD
Make it as high as it is wide and I'll be the first in line for one.😎 Bring back the Cube🥳🥳🥳. Resistance is futile, y'all.I’m thinking scaled down Mac Studio vibes. Smaller footprint but more height.
What real advantage is there to it being smaller? You still need monitor, keyboard etc.
That being said, I've already seen an M1 Mac Mini torn apart on YouTube and there's so much room in the chassis, they could have redesigned it in 2020. They waited 4 years for that, don't know why.
Wrong...the rumor cleary says it will have M4 and M4 Pro...while M4 family it clearly consume less power than M2 family , it still needs fan, not as big as the current mini but still.Of course. Just like with the iPad Pro
Fanless and smaller size = less aluminum and parts/materials used = higher margins
Watch them remove the USB-A and HDMI ports too. They'll justify it because the other consumer-level/non-Pro Macs (iMac and MacBook Air) doesn't have them either.
Exactly. Especially if they are going to be removing more ports. I use almost all the ports on my current minis, USB-A, ethernet, HDMI, line out, plus a couple external USB-C drives, etc.. If they are removing more ports and making it smaller, it doesn't help the situation at all, I'll just have to buy more docks to hook up to it to make it usable.I always wondered about this since they started putting M-series chips into iPads. Granted, I would still like decent amount of storage and I/O so the mini isn't then surrounded by a mess of wires, docks and hubs, but the opportunity to make a 'mini' version of the Mini with Apple silicon is there.
Heck - you could mount one to the back of a studio display and get your 5K iMac back that everyone wants!
