I now have a delivery window, and it should be here within the next two hours. Yay.

May I ask which courier?
Im in the UK and was waiting for some annual leave so I could be home when I order - but if I got a 2 hour window with some kind of tracking I could probably just order now and nip out of work and pop home to receive it as I only work 6 mins walk from home.....!

Has anyone here been able to do a CTO order and pick up in store? I'd rather not have a very expensive small box sitting outside my building while I'm away at work but as soon as I customize the machine it removes the store pickup option.

It’s coming via UPS. I didn’t get the 2hr window until after it was “out for delivery”.

My custom M4 Max/128 GB/4 TB is still "On the Way" via FedEx. (Never have gotten something from FedEx before from Apple.) Estimated date the 17th but I'm holding out hope for sooner!

Did you have to upgrade the cpu to get the ram and HD upgrade too? Wondering what that cost compared to doing a similar spec m3 ultra.

Kind of wish i chose home delivery instead of in store pickup…10am and still not ready. Wonder if ill get it today

I ordered the M3Ultra/256GB/4TB on March 8th. Still in processing status. Apple says delivery Mar 19-21.

17th was my estimate too but I'm having it shipped to store so I have no visibility other than it's shipped. But with yours the key to FedEx is noting the scan location. Once it leaves AK you should have it within two days, but often next day. Personally I'm predicting mine will be ready for pickup by Friday. What's the last scan for your Studio?

The binned (base) M4 Max is stuck at 24GB. No RAM upgrades allowed, only storage. If you want more than 24GB you must upgrade to at least the full M4 Max.

I believe the base $1999 max has 36gb of ram and a 512gb hard drive. That’s for the US, unless it’s different in other countries.

I did notice ship to store orders take longer than ship to home. Yesterday ship to store was disabled.

Yeah, typo on my part -- not sure where the 24GB got into my head. But the main point is RAM upgrades are not available on the entry Mac Studio. You have to upgrade to the full M4 Max or one of the M3 Ultras.

I did. The low-end Ultra with 96 GB wasn’t terribly much more money, but wanted to go a little higher on the memory. The Max has plenty of GPU/CPU for my purposes, and I feel weird paying more for slightly lower single-core performance and 32 GB less RAM.

Still on Lantau Island, alas. Has been there for the last day. No date estimate from FedEx either.

Mine arrived today, despite the estimate showing March 17th. Since reviewers only had 80 core models and I don't have a better place to drop these, here are my geekbench runs from the 28 core CPU, 60 core GPU model:

The Single Core CPU ended up a little higher than the M3 Max average and multi-core CPU is only about 3% faster than M4 Max. The GPU numbers surprised me though, those are about 20% higher than M4 Max, when I did the math last week I was expecting 16%. I went with the 60 core because I wanted more GPU, the CPU numbers did not matter to me.

Nice!

Any noise/coil whine or the like?

For anyone curious about this, I called Apple and was told something along the lines of - the store pickup system requires a time slot for pickup, and in the wake of a launch they are all allocated for readily available items for a certain period of time. So at some point they will release the slots and CTO will be available for store pickup once again.

My local stores all show readily available pickup times for any of the new "store configuration" items so I'm hopeful they'll allow CTO store pickup in the next few days.

They allowed this during pre-order but turned it off on Monday. However, if you order and it ships FedEx you can use the FedEx app to have it delivered to FedEx office. Similarly if it ships UPS and you have UPS Choice you can have it delivered to a UPS store. If you don't have Choice there is a fee unless UPS has already made 1 delivery attempt. However, if you call Apple Customer Service and explain your situation they'll probably be able to change to UPS Store delivery w/ no fee.

It is odd they turned off store delivery. I don't know the logistics here but it's not like CTO Studios or even Airs are flying off the shelf like an iPhone. CTO delivery itself isn't even all that backed up except for some of high end options.

I thought I saw some on here say they can upgrade the standard delivery to expedited for free? How does one do that?
