As usual, the MacBook Pro configuration tool produces some interesting results. The two 14 inch machines below cost the same:

* M4 MacBook Pro / 2 TB SSD / 32 GB Memory
* M4 Pro MacBook Pro (binned) / 2 TB SSD / 24 GB Memory

The M4 Pro models have two fans versus one in the M4 models.

Would you go for more memory or the faster chip? Is memory as important for Apple Silicon as it used to be for Intel? My 2017 5K iMac typically consumes at least 16 GB of its 32 GB of memory per Activity Monitor.
 
I'd go with the M4 Pro (Binned) - this is model I went with. It seems to give you the best bang for your buck.
