Not surprised in the least. I work at a uni and we're seeing more and more Mac laptops these days, to the point I believe we now have an Apple rep on campus on a regular basis. We're also seeing more and more academics getting Mac's, I've configured about ten of 'em in the last four months whereas one a year was about average before. I do wish the lecturers would stop specifiying glossy screens when they're using them in an office right by a south-facing window though... I mean, it's a very NICE mirror but not that useful when it comes to doing actual work.
Don't get too excited about market share though, in the economic climate we have now people are either buying cheap netbooks or, for those that haven't been significantly affected, premium products. The sales drop-offs have come in the mid ground where people don't see a compelling reason to upgrade. As the economy recovers I think we'll see the market share creep downwards a bit as Dell, Tosh and HP sell more of their bread-and-butter offerings.
