I did that earlier... and sadly, they do not show anything heading to my house. I'm not overly optimistic at this point that my Mac will, in fact, be in on the 8th. However, I suppose there is still a chance.
Yes I doubt it as well I live in Canada still processing there is no way they are overnight shipping these from China to my address… we will probably get pushed to the 11th or later.
Updated. I just checked again and low and behold, UPS Choice is showing the delivery on the 8th!!

Slightly off topic but Ordered a Base M4 MacBook Pro through the Education store on the 30th around 4 hours after orders opened with a delivery date of November 8th. Still showing as “Preparing to ship”. Based in the UK if anyone is in a similar position? What courier is used in the UK?
For those of you with the Nov. 8 delivery dates, when did the order go to "Preparing to Ship"? Also, when you ordered the unit, when did it say it was shipping?
Mine was rather confusing, stating this in the email:
If it "ships" 8-10 days from November 1, that would mean Nov. 9-11, but then it says delivery is Nov. 20-22, which is 11 days after shipping. I note my credit card got a pending charge today (Nov. 6), but the order is still listed as "Processing" though. (However, I understand it can be many days after the pending charge shows up before it actually ships.)
BTW, that $1281.50 Canadian edu price at the current exchange rate works out to US$922.35, which a little cheaper than the $989 US edu price. It's nice to get a little break for a change.

Yes, thx, I understand, but I'm curious when it stated it was preparing to ship. Monday, Nov. 4? Also, in the order confirmation email, what date did it say it would be shipping?
I just found my email a bit confusing, because it said it would ship in 8-10 days from my order date of Nov. 1, but it would take until Nov. 20-22 to deliver, which is 11 days after shipment date. BTW, my delivery date just changed like 10 minutes ago to now say Nov. 19-21, so obviously something is happening. Still processing though.

I’ve had Apple products go to preparing to ship and then ship as late as 19:00 the day before it actually arrives. No need to panic.
Just changed to Dispatched with a date of 14/11.
I'm expecting it to arrive tomorrow unless BTO's come from China (I can't recall).
EDIT: It's "on the way" via UPS from Shenzhen with a date of 11/11.
