Yeah I know this thread is a dead horse, but, from this morning's Mac OS X Rumors...

Imminent Mac mini update?

A MacBidouille reader ordered a Mac mini on the online Apple Store this week and while he was checking his order status today, he noticed that there was the following mention:

MACMINI 1.42GHZ/512/80G/CMD/F
Est. Build On or before 11/07/2005
Replaced with new product”

This is usually the mention that appears when there is a new product announcement before the item ordered on the Apple Store is shipped. That may mean that Apple is going to announce an updated line of Mac mini’s in the coming days.

However the shipment delay of the Mac mini is still “on the same business day” on the online Apple Store. So maybe it is simply a mistake from Apple. Time will tell.

I placed an order on 6/15, 1.42 mini with BT/AP, Superdrive and 512meg of ram. Initial ship date was listed as 6/27 but was pushed out to 7/1. No mention of a replacement item. Ordered online - Canada Applestore

A real pain in the butt when I received the keyboard and mouse the day after I placed the order... but need to wait 4 weeks for the computer itself...

its coming..

Well any ideas what the small update will be, we know that the CPU in the mini's are overclockable (I pushed a 1.25 to 1.5 but it was a bit unstable but worked flawlessly at 1.42). The 1.4 is capable of reaching a stable 1.58.
so..

1.25 >> 1.33
1.42 >> 1.5

64mb card?

512mb ram

surely Apple wouldn't JUST speed up the processors without touching anything else... or would they??

Strong Buzz...

Well.. looks like things are picking up again. There is a strong buzz on all the rumor sites that a Mini update is imminent. European customers are being advised that there orders are being "updated with new product" ..... yes! :)

Well... another update today... the shipment has been pushed back AGAIN to 7/8. What do you think the chances are that I can call Applestore on Monday (not a holiday in Canada) and cancel the order until the update/upgrade/revision news is confirmed?
