I would love to see a cheaper version of the mac mini. More people could getting into osx

So true.
But i dont think Apple as a company has so much high thoughts about mini.. At their presentation with the new mac mini, they harldy mentioned it.. just very brief.
But i agree with you.. Lower price point would defenently make non apple users to get into mac.
It is a quite expensive computer if you count in all stuff u need for it, as keyboard and mouse. But for me it was all worth it..

More than two displays would be nice. 2 Thunderbolt ports and an HDMI port would be perfect.

If they would do this, the mini would probably have two thunderbold ports, at least that's my guess.

Quad Core & Iris please

My trusted 2010 MacMini will be out of warranty come November - as such a quad-core i7 Haswell option with Iris HD5100 0r HD5200 would be a most welcome replacement with a minimum 8G RAM and 2T HDD - its used mainly as a media centre and kid likes playing games on it.

A headless mac with usb3 and dGPU.
Is that too much to ask?
(Oh, I know there will be one, starting from ca. $2999, called MP.
But since there are also cars that are cheaper than Rolls Royce...)

Or do I have to swallow soldered ram & sdd and maybe display also?

Given the Mac mini used to be very similar to Airport Extreme base stations, the new mac mini may come in a mini-mini tower look, or also look as an mini Mac Pro. also may ditch Spinner HDD...(not very likely but lately Apple cant surprise me):p

Odd that Apple is updating so soon. The usual refresh cycle is 400 days for the Mini. I wonder if sales dropped after the HDMI issues with the late 2012 model? I returned mine after a week with no resolution.

Actually, I'm not sure where this rumor comes from (ie: I don't know if there're sources, or if it's rather a wish). I wish a new Mini, because the current model is hard to justify today (Haswell has been released, you want the latest CPU if you buy a new Mac today). Moreover, if discrete GPU has been dropped forever, the need for having the latest Intel GPU is important.

OTOH, I like the new Mac Pro much more than the Mini, and if it's available for less than $2500 it's likely I'll buy it. If it ships at >$4000, I'll have to choose the Mini, though, although it has lower specs than I need (the iMac is out of my choice, though, I'll never buy an all-in-one again after experiencing the pain of repairing it: failure on either the computer or the display implies you lose both the computer and the display: I suffered it once, and I don't want it again)

I just ordered a mini today. I'm not a power user so there is no sense in waiting for the latest and greatest. My current mini is 5.5 yrs old and showing its age. I'll be glad for the boost in power and storage.
