I don't see what the problem is really. From Apples standpoint this is a transitional machine that gives the user a choice to move to Display Port or not. If an adapter is needed it won't cost much and Apple is likely to include one anyway. As I already said, this goes against BYODKM, as it forces EVERY switcher to buy at least ONE adapter to use ANY display they might have.
great news, but at least one mini DVI to DVI adapter better be included in the package.
(edit: while the above is still true, I just realized that I have one mini DVI to DVI and one VGA adapter that came with my MBA!)
The foot print of Mac Mini could be the same than MBA's SuperDrive. It wouldn't be too bad if they dropped the optical drive from Mini to make it cheaper.
Umm, no you don't, not if they came with the MBA. That's Micro-DVI. Mini-DVI is the port that's on the previous model MacBook's (the white or black plastic).

Just a thought... I wonder if we will ever see black Apple logos on the back of MacBooks?
What's that got to do with the Mac Mini supporting dual displays?
And if it were to be black anyway, it wouldn't be illuminated.
As I already said, this goes against BYODKM, as it forces EVERY switcher to buy at least ONE adapter to use ANY display they might have.
Do you think this would allow me to run dual 30" from the mini?
Considering the huge advantages offered up by Display Port
would this have any effect on the possibility of an HDMI port?
Apple, give us a classical DVI Dual-link (like it was till now) + a Mini DisplayPort.
The best way, to have dual-screen setup on a Mac mini.
