I actually love it. The glass is beautiful the ui and UX is overall improved. However there is several xcode bugs that have existed since beta 1 that STILL have not been resolved including simulator absolutely breaking audio playback and horribly slow network connection when running apps via the network.

Tahoe is my favorite 26 update with iPadOS 26 being close second.

I thought mods ran a tight ship around here in regard to similar threads. There have been 100 threads with people just crying about 26. Yes. We get it. Clear bubbles are the devil. Can't you just add your thoughts to one of the other threads about this topic?
Idk man when I called someone out for outright lying I got hit with a ban almost immediately, you would think...

Inb4 banned for accidentally double posting.

Visually/interface-wise, I actually see some improvements after you de-glass (or de-Genius...) specific display options under Accessibility settings.

The MacBooks atm are a good spec until you look at the cost & then they, like all other Mac products are ridiculously priced.

MacBook Pro as the name suggest's a machine intended to be used in business, still used by a lot of graphic designers & video production but yet the base model in the UK with 16GB ram & 512MB storage is £1599 & utterly useless as far as graphics & video are concerned. If I want an additional 16GB ram it's £400, £200 for additional 512MB storage & only then does it start to become usable. Top of the range, maxed out it's over £7K & yet I remember MBP maxed out at around £2-2.5K.

Been using Macs since 1994, was a Mac technician looking after some 500 Macs on my own for 12 years, my wife started on a Lisa, so yes we are old school literally but that means we have been through the Good, the Bad & the very Ugly of Mac evolution.
I'm doing plenty of video and photo work on an M3 Macbook Air 16/512GB and may I say it's very far from "utterly useless". Shopping around windows laptops recently I'd actually argue that there's never been a time where macbooks have been better value than these days. I agree on storage prices but that's always been the case.

I think you can report the thread to notify the mods and they’ll sometimes move it to a thread of the same topic that already exists.

Tried it for a week and went back to my go to - Sonoma.

Apple Music interface is just horrible. It's like they have take everything we have learned about UI / UX and thrown it in the bin.

And the colours are too washed out. Much prefer the defined colours of 14 / 15. Only reason I went back to 14 was I have absolutely no use case for Apple Intelligence and Sonoma runs like a bullet.

There are lots of inconsistencies. You could say it's not ready for general release.

My screen is flat. I don't need things to be layered. I just need a reliable OS.

Unfortunately my phone is stuck with it so looking at other options now. Only had it since March and it the user experience has just been destroyed.

Had a bit of a 'to do' with Apple support today and the guy pretty much agreed with everything I said but ultimately there is nothing they can do to help. At that point its time to move on.

This is why I'm staying away from Tahoe so far. Until they get the Music app's problems fixed (and they don't seem to be difficult fixes to make), I'm staying on Sequoia.
A lot of changes to get it all great don't seem difficult, but I have a feeling they will be too stubborn to do it - as is usually the Apple way.

Don't care much about the Liquid Glass but Tahoe made my M1 Max really slow. The UI is slow, I'm waiting more and more for the beachball. And this is a clean install.

took a break from the forum, and spent some time in the real world. troubled place, sure... but more trees ☺️

yes, there are things to fix, tweak... just like every mac OS before it. but as far as functionality, speed, stabilty, it's really great here.

eventually, the whining will die down, and life will go on. then the first beta for OS 27 will drop, and the cycle will repeat. same as it ever was 🤷

Macs have always been absurdly overpriced, but also outlast their competitors by 2-3x as long. And the build quality is second to none. You get what you pay for, even if it costs an arm and a leg.

Not all Mac's are overpriced. Now as Apple Silicon has brought Macbook Air form factor to what it was conceived to be when it was first released it does not look overpriced when comparing it to offerings from other manufacturers in "apples vs apples" - or "oranges vs oranges"-way.

When we add the build quality to it then it becomes hard to find similar "bang-for-buck" offering from other "plastic-fantastic" device manufacturers.

But what comes to "losing its way" then the birth story of Apple Intelligence (the one still having "BETA" on its icon) tells clearer story about it than most other examples can. Who knows maybe "Solarium UI" has been born in similar way?

Tahoe is the first time I've updated to a MacOS x.0 and I love it. I find it very stable and I like the new features. I don't care either way about Liquid Glass and third party AI is working fine for me.

I have found one bug which is related to screenshot/quicklook/markup thingy (when cropping and doing markups before clicking "Done" markups are not saved incorrectly or not at all) and reported it with Feedback Assistant.

Only minor annoyance is behaviour of Dock in light mode what comes to "reflections" in it. This "gradient" looks like most amateurish "themes" sometimes look..

the good thing about these over-oppressed OS and Macs Tim belches out annually is
  1. Mojave can still work today fully and less interference from Cupertino.
  2. Oh we can ditch these commie machines and Iclouds!
  3. Mt lion is operable and quick!
  4. am I supposed to used bullets instead of numbers?
  5. we can use a computer not a computablets!
  6. we can control our GB space on our hard drive was can install other swap
  7. the graphics is not the issue, as Tahoed Liquor Glass is okay,
just the way we can use our computers nowadays this decade
as they are much stiffer as tolerance towards non- programs
as safari is "pop up city",  music is for tone deaf humans, tv is utter garbage and mail is convoluted now.
  8. life is great since we can still use older intel computers even today!
think out side the box as our time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life

No, because then they run the risk of no one seeing their post and that conflicts with their need to be heard.
