We're looking at a couple months until the release... MAX

This should be nice. 10.3.8 is nice but I am still having minor sleep problems with my PowerBook. Looks like it's almost that time again.

*counts $129 for Tiger* :D

Wow...so when this is done, 10.3 will be perfect, right? Since there are no more numbers left before 10.4, there's no room for any mistakes in this release. I can't wait! Imagine...the perfect OS...my eyes are tearing up at the thought of such wonder...

Wrong their are two decimals so it's not a "real number" do a forum search. :)

Hate to spoil it for you but:
10.3.9
10.3.10
10.3.11
10.3.12
10.3.13
10.3.14
10.3.15
10.3.16
10.3.17
10.3.18
10.3.19
10.3.20

There's plenty of more room for upgrades

I think if Apple was planning on doing that, they would of release upgrades as 10.3.01
10.3.02
10.3.03

or even

10.3.001
10.3.002
10.3.003

Whoops, I'm so sorry, I completely forgot to indicate sarcasm. I can see why you were confused. Terribly sorry.

What about 10.3.10 or 10.3.11 ? These munbers are not decimal systems so any number is possible as previously suggested.

But with the release still 3-4 months away we may see another one.

10.3.8...

10.3.8 is by far the buggiest of all the os X updates... more than 10.0.4 hehe

we have not seen 10.0.10 (went up to 4?) , 10.1.10 (went up to 5?), 10.2.10 (went up to 8) 10.3.10 is highly unlikely... would mean that each time they get into more trouble... actually they do.... but its not presentable... 10.3.10 ouch no

nono

no way

:D

you people with the "10.3.9.1" and the "10.3.9.01" BS kill me.

after 10.3.9 they'll start over and go back to 10.3.0. it's sooo freaking obvious.

either that or they'll do something so ridiculous and out of control (say keep going and call it 10.3.10) that the world will collapse on itself and we will all die.

not to intrude on this ivigorating conversation about decimals(seriosly folks, it's not that important) but I must say I'm excited about the fix for mounting USB drives. I know occasionally I have to restart to get my lacie drive to mount.

Awesome! I don't plan on getting Tiger when it comes out (at least not right away) so the fixes to my Panther will do nicely! :)

I'm so lazy, an I'm in no hurry, and sure someone else will know offhand--how many revisions did 10.1 and 10.2 go through before their successors were released? wasn't it 5 and 7, respectively?

Good to see that there is improvments beeing made on a regular basis.
When Tiger comes put will Tiger have any of the problems that panter had (they will fix it) or will there just be other kind's of updates

Not to spoil numbering scheme discussion (nothing wrong with 10.3.10, 10.3.11 ...) but hopefully 10.3.9 will fix wierd USB 2 hard drive problem I am having for some time. It's 80 GB external drive that mounts only if it is plugged in at boot time or while machine is sleeping. Plugging cable during normal operation does not mount the drive.
It's specific for one drive only, couple of others works fine.

i think its a little too late for that, but they might do that for tiger.

To hell with numbering systems -- why can't Apple fix it so that a letterbox film COMPLETELY extends from left screen to right, all the time?

Have more than a few films of late that have black bars on the side in addition to the usual ones. Two examples: King & I, and South Pacific.

Worse, some films that do show properly, have their image on a full screen shrunk to a half-size image, necessitating a change to max screen then back to full to get proper aspect ratio.

Were those DVDs anamorphic? If they're relatively old, pre-2000 circa, then they might just not be... and that would be causing the problem of which you speak.
