ThinkSecret reports that over the weekend, Apple seeded developers with build 8F45 of Mac OS X 10.4.3. The latest build has no "known issues" according to the rumor site, suggesting that the update is approaching release status.

Mac OS X 10.4.3 will weigh in at around 100MB and include more than 550 fixes and improvements

Few details of the specific improvements are available. Appleinsider posts a similar report.

Here's to a more stable Safari, to make it stop crashing every other time I visit and then close the tab to a site with shady CGI programming, and maybe a bit of tinkering into whatever makes iTunes 6 and 6.0.1 beach-ball excessively... :(

Other than that I'm actually quite happy with 10.4.2... ;)

It might finally be time to upgrademy PowerBook to Tiger.

I was waiting on a third party application to work under Tiger and then I didn't have time to do the upgrade. And then 10.4.3 became imminent. Well, as soon as it's released (and confirmed not to screw up PowerBooks), I'll do the upgrade.

My PowerMac is already at Tiger - it didn't have the dependency on the third party app.

Let's just hope they fix iTunes and add "show multiple songs" so you can filter your iPod.

Oh, and also fix Safari so when I accidentally hit command-q (while using tabs) I get a prompt asking me if I want to close all tabs.

And Santa, I want a sparklin' wizard to show up when I use pages...

I'm looking forward to this update. I think it'll be the one that turns Tiger into, well, a Tiger. One that roars. Etc.

hopefully 10.4.3 will be the first of the stable builds, I've been having a few kernel panics since 10.4.2

I just want to be able to print over my Airport Extreme again and I also want the menu slowness fixed. *Crosses Fingers*

Hopefully, this update is released at some point this week since I will be on travel next week and will not have internet access. I guess it doesn't really matter though since I haven't had a single issue with my PowerBook with 10.4.2.

I just like having the latest software. ;)

i hope they get that Q2DExtreme thingy working. that could be very pretty :) whatever it does!

I'm praying that they fix the iBook Airport problem, it drives me crazy.

The issue that bugs me the most in Tiger is a long delay between keystrokes being recognized in various aspects of Spotlight. If Apple could get this fixed, I'd use Spotlight much more.

Comin' a bit slower?

Back in the day of Jaguar and Panther, it seemed Apple released an update every month! They're sure taking their time with Tiger. 500 updates..?.. that's huge! Hmm... looks like were gonna have this cat for a while yet.

Bring it on!

It is interesting that the AppleInsider article says the Quad uses liquid cooling. I've not heard that previously.

What airport problem? I have an iBook and airport has caused no problems for me.

This might be what finally gets me to upgrade. OTOH, anyone know when 10.5 is coming out?

10.5 won't be coming out until late 2006, early 2007...we haven't even seen a demo of it...I'm sure Steve will do that at WWDC in June...so we have a while to wait.
