Could an older Mac's drive be updated if Apple decided to make a software update for blue-ray support?

Its looking like my Rev 1 MBA is getting the finger by not getting four finger gestures even though its only a few months younger than the new one with no hardware differences on the trackpad. Whats that all about.... lol
I'm old enough to remember System 7.5.5, probably one the worst OS headaches there ever was.![]()
My first Apple Computer was an Apple IIe and my first Mac was a Mac 512k.Youngster. My first Mac came with System 3.![]()

I believe mine came with version 1.0. The original Mac (128K).
My next mac came with Mac OS X 10.4
So, am I a switcher? Yes... constantly...
OK, if we're going to go back that far, I got my first Apple computer in 1979: an Apple ][+ with 16KB RAM, an external floppy drive and SilentWriter printer.![]()
The Apple ][e and then on to the Mac 512K and the eventual Mac Plus....I was there when the teeny tine 3 1/4 inch floppy drive space doubled from 400k to 800k.... got the first 5MB hard drive (yes that is an M and it was bigger than my Mac Plus).... now those were the days.....
Of course my Atari 400 with the pressure sensitive keys, cassette tape drive and Basic was in a cartrige....still brings me warm fuzzy memories....
Memories.... but I digress - I like updates even though my only problem with my new Mac Pro is MS Office.... but that is not Apples fault...
blu-ray support?
Thank you! I thought it was just me having this problem. If anything else, this is also the one and only thing I want fixed.
Pah! System 7 had full color, and Prince of Persia on the Games Demos disc looked awesome.

I soooooooooo wish that they have fixed the Airport...
Other than that, 10.5.5 is as stable as an establishment where racehorses are kept and trained.
