What would be reallllllly great is if they Add some of the old Quicktime Pro functionality back into Quicktime X.. :D

I agree about the menubar on multi screen macs though, I always thought it should optionally appear on both displays or follow the pointer.. I have two 24" monitors.. its stupid to have to go so far to get to the menubar.. (I got around it by installing dejamenu but that’s a kludgy work around.. Is there a more modern dejamenu alternative?)

That would be welcome. Beats the ol' $129 price tag Leopard had.

Lion will cost exactly $129 in the US.

Citation?

I've seen no official prices yet.

Hmm, it looks like they are coming.

If you watched the keynote you can see that the App Store has a scroll bar that resembles that of iOS and fades when not in use. Pages still had an Aqua scroll bar, but I'd imagine that UI changes would be uniform so I think it's days are numbered.

Is Jobs losing his sense of color? Just because the Apple logo went to silver doesn't mean the whole OS needs to follow! I mean come on, does anybody actually think the new grayscale iTunes interface looks better than the previous version?

Personally, I liked the Tiger version of Aqua better than any "leopard" version, which looks 'boring' to me. It wouldn't be hard for Apple to offer a choice in the preference pane for the version of OSX users prefer, but that would mean Steve didn't get to decide which look is best for everyone and he'd probably get very depressed seeing as he's a control freak, so it's whatever Steve happens to like at the moment, be it vertical window bars for iTunes or iOS scroll bars for OSX 10.7. Get used to it. I'm quite frankly shocked he allows you to change the screen saver in OSX, let alone the wall paper background. Given his ego, I'd half expect his mug to be pasted on all the backgrounds. :D

No scroll bars in screenshots

Anyone else been on the Lion page on the Apple site?

No scroll bars visible on screenshot of the Mac App Store

Other than that, I doubt any extreme cosmetic changes. Just a move towards iTunes greyed-out approach to icons, perhaps. (Am I allowed to hope for more intuitive windows-resizing tools? Windows 7 seems to be all over that :( )

The scroll bars are also missing from the Safari windows used during the demo. I like the vanishing scroll bars.

Scroll bars tell me where I'm at in a long web-page. I hope there's an option to turn it on, or a key to press to have a visible for a second without scrolling.

Ok, wen can check this one as confirmed.

I you can not see where in the page you are, just scroll a little, like in iOS ;)

So much for the proponents of the touch-screen Mac. In today's "Back to the Mac" presentation Steve basically re-quoted from my posts on Tuesday. Touch-screens aren't useful for traditional computers -- you need a horizontal surface or a trackpad-like device.

However, he did leave open the possibility of a horizontally positioned, articulated display as has been shown in one of the patent applications from Apple. The problem is that they can't use that type of arrangement on all Macs and types of displays, so I doubt the practicality of that type of product in Apple's Mac lineup.

So can one presume that the scrollbars would resemble those used in this website? I have to say, I very much like the simplicity of it, even though one cannot appear to move directly halfway down the page for example...

Options? In OSX? Unlikely, IMO. Steve likes everyone to do things his way. Sometimes that way is great. Sometimes it's not. But don't ever expect Steve to capitulate. You will be assimilated.

No, no, no. They have to keep it. They will keep it.

When you're not scrolling the scrollbar disappears. If I wanted to click and drag the scrollbar it would have to reappear. However, if I wanted to click on something behind the scrollbar in a web browser I couldn't.

This is the beginning of the end folks. The iOS interface appears dated and this is actually a step backwards.
