That's what I would have thought too, but I think in many ways we will end up with a similar situation to Jaguar, (where the supposed confusion was with the car). We all know it's Jaguar, it even uses the jaguar print on the box, but it can't officially be called Jaguar. I don't think it will even get to that point as few in the mainstream even remember the Atari Lynx.
Actually, thinking about it, Atari also had the 32 bit Panther and 64 bit Jaguar machines, (the latter arguably being more well known than the Lynx), and there were never any copyright issues with these names for OSX.
