I'd be happy if I could at least get a FedEx tracking number 🙁
Same here. I even called FedEx and they said they had no packages for my address in their system.

Shennanigans!

Congrats to all the new Tiger users out there...I won't be getting mine until the powerbook line is updated - my first mac! 😀

But, for all you Middletown, PA distribution center people out there, don't panic yet - FedEx isn't always good at keeping their shipping information up to date. Twice, I've checked on the status of packages when I left work, the status shows that the package hasn't even made it to the local distribution center, and 20 minutes later, when arriving home, the package was on the doorstep. When I ordered my brother's iPod, the day after he got it, the FedEx site was still listing as unshipped, sitting in a airport in Shanghai 😕
Your first mac. Will be an exciting day I tell you. Very exciting. Nonetheless...

I'm calling shennanigans on Fed Ex. Everybody get out your brooms!

how do you guys make pics of your desktops or of safari?

i dont know that trick

also how you do have safari or modzilla firefox tell you when bookmarks are updated?

thanks

Mine left PA at 451pm. Fed Ex Priority Overnight to RI. Woo ho!
So, because Apple was putzing around with your order, you get it by 10:30am. Because Fed Ex wants to putz around with my order, I get to wonder what kind of putz doesn't know how to drive in a straight line from Middletown to Baltimore. 😡

Where did you get that FedEx widget? I haven't seen that one yet.

A pretty good place to get more widgets is www.dashboardwidgets.com

It's a combination of two widget-making websites that have joined forces to bring unofficial widgets, but most of them you'll find on Apple's Widget Page which goes live tomorrow (hopefully).

It would have been handy earlier today 🙂 You can also choose UPS!

the keyboard shortcut is shift-cmd-3 or shift-cmd-4, depending on what you want to take a picture of. but maybe that's wrong. i can't ever remember that one. also, go to applications-->utilities-->grab. grab is an application that lets you take screenshots of the entire screen/a window/a selection. it is good.

Arrived mid-afternoon here. It installed in 15 minutes, archive and install, and the indexing of the 25 gigs of my 80 gig hard drive was completed in about 11 minutes!! Very fast setup.

Everything works great, but it isn't that exciting.

Arrived in Sydney, Australia... Friday, 10:30 am local time, via Express Post.

It surprised me a bit that it came with an iWork '05 trial version. (I thought for a moment Apple was being really nice to me and included a free iWork!)

Did everyone else get this?

Shift+Apple+4 and drag the cursor over the part of the screen you want. It will save to the desktop in pdf.

I'm excited to try out Tiger on my new Power Mac Dual 2.0 thats coming next week. Anyone here with Tiger on a G5 Power Mac 2.0 have and comments about running Tiger on their system?

You're in good company... 🙁

Evidently. I knew there was no way they could promise delivery to everyone on the 29th and actually pull it off. Maybe They'll prove me wrong, but it IS 9:30. 🙄

Shipping from Middletown PA would be great since it is only a five minute drive from my house. The order still hasn't shipped but there is still hope.

If Tiger doesn't arrive tomorrow I am going to cancel my order and pre-order Longhorn... at least I know THAT will arrive on schedule. 😀

LMAO!! That won't be out for like 10 years. lol

I'm cloning my HD as we speak and I'm really anticipating tommorow's events. ^_^ I too hope to win a Powerbook. That would so own.

Well my status hasn't changed to 'shipped'. Going to bed...will check first thing tomorrow morning 🙂

11:50 pm Arrived at Sort Facility OAKLAND CA

Apr 28, 2005
2:48 pm Left FedEx Sort Facility OAKLAND CA

Hopefully I will get it tomorrow!!!
arrgghhhh...

That's what mine looked like, took them 24 hours to move it out of California! If it were shipped ground instead I would have had it overnight!

Leave it to Apple, the only company that could forget about people that ordered the first day.

Has Apple ever been on point with a ship date...My PowerMac was delayed...My Powerbook was delayed...and now Tiger delayed. I think the only thing they can ship on time is iPods.

I feel the same way, I really wanted to believe that they would do it. But needless to say it doesnt seem as if they will. It is 9:50pm EST, so there is still a few hours left for it to ship on 04/28/05. But I am not holding my breath.

Got mine this morning after a suprise re-load on the Tracking part of FedEx's site. The sort facility was only a few minutes from my college down here and I tried frantically to see if I could just go pick it up early and after several dropped calls I just gave up on FedEx's (who on a side note has a lot of female operators) early delivery.

When I refreshed the tracking page I found out it had been delivered to my college mailroom so I hightailed it down there and got it.

A few notes, the installation took about an hour start to finish, although it might have taken longer if I let it verify the Tiger Install Disc. It also froze up during the login screen on the first reboot (like the one right after installation finishes) as well as giving me a grey screen of death when I woke my computer from sleep. Other than that Tiger is great, admittedly it feels a lot like the computer I was using this morning before I upgraded, but that's what's so nice about Archive & Install, there's just new versions of all my favorite apps, but everything's in the right place and more importantly--it still works 😀

Sorry to hear about those whose copies either haven't shipped or are being hoarded by delivery companies. You'll get your hands on it soon! Here's a screenshot for you to drool over.

I notice you have a song called "Space Cowboy" playing - are you a fellow Red Elvises fan?

Rock!

yeah, I'm hitting the hay, too.

Just hoping that their system is delayed (not) and that it will arrive as promised tomorrow. If it doesn't I'll fire off one of my usual letters that will get thrown in the corporate trash cans at Apple. Or just go to the store and pay full price, and return the EDU package when it eventually arrives.

*sigh*

🙁

I have friends who ordered this LAST WEEK and already have it. I ordered it 8:48 EST on the announce date and no joy.

Blah!
