about some time, I finally got some update but sill WTF with the time?

Mine left Middletown at 8:46 too. Why didn't I get the Newark update? :(

I guess MacRumors "Members" get special treatment. ;)

Weird. Here I was thinking that this door tag left at my door was for a different package I was expecting since my order status still says it's being prepared for shipment. But actually, I just typed in the door tag number on fedex.com and the origin matches the rest of y'alls...and I also just received the other package I was getting it confused with.

So basically my Tiger shipped yesterday even though my order status still says Preparing. Tomorrow I will have it when FedEx attempts another delivery. Interesting. What a relief, but frustrating to know I could be installing right now if I was home when they tried to deliver!

So once again, there is still hope for me? That last person I talked to at Apple said that all orders submitted before the 26th were on track to be delivered by the 29th.

... however mine is still "Preparing Shipment".

I recieved my email yesterday that It was shipped. Only 6 hours until I get home and start installing - can't wait.

Just a suggestion, after install, who want's to do some xbenching. Lets say we do 5 tests and average the scores and post them up. Anyone interested??

Previous System Folder

So I got my copy of tiger, installed it with archive and install, and now I was wondering: I can just trash the folder (previous system) where all my files and preferences were backed into, now that the installation is over, right?

It's amazing how much our order status looks the same. Someone said they were upgraded to overnight priority shipping... like one page ago on here.

Give it another hour or so...mine was just upgraded to 'overnight' and 'preparing shipment' like, 15 minutes ago.

You know Matt... this is the first time I have actually felt like things might work out after all. Thanks for that! :)

Mine has been "preparing" since Monday. It better be one hell of a nice packing job. ;)

Perfect Install

Tiger arrived at 2:20PM as expected and install was completed at 3:15PM without a hitch. Used the direct update from 10.3.9. All settting and software is working. I deleted the Virex AV since it had caused problems in other installs. Spotlight is still indexing and should be done shortly. Dashboard is really nice.

Only one minor problem...I updated to Quick Time Pro 7 after install and I cannot tell if it upgraded or not. I followed the procedure but I cannot get an Okay to show after I enter the Serial? Maybe it won't update until after 6PM on Friday?

Now if the iMac's are put on the store tomorrow it will be a great week :D

Got mine :)

Got mine this morning after a suprise re-load on the Tracking part of FedEx's site. The sort facility was only a few minutes from my college down here and I tried frantically to see if I could just go pick it up early and after several dropped calls I just gave up on FedEx's (who on a side note has a lot of female operators) early delivery.

When I refreshed the tracking page I found out it had been delivered to my college mailroom so I hightailed it down there and got it.

A few notes, the installation took about an hour start to finish, although it might have taken longer if I let it verify the Tiger Install Disc. It also froze up during the login screen on the first reboot (like the one right after installation finishes) as well as giving me a grey screen of death when I woke my computer from sleep. Other than that Tiger is great, admittedly it feels a lot like the computer I was using this morning before I upgraded, but that's what's so nice about Archive & Install, there's just new versions of all my favorite apps, but everything's in the right place and more importantly--it still works :D

Sorry to hear about those whose copies either haven't shipped or are being hoarded by delivery companies. You'll get your hands on it soon! Here's a screenshot for you to drool over.

Congrats to all the new Tiger users out there...I won't be getting mine until the powerbook line is updated - my first mac! :D

But, for all you Middletown, PA distribution center people out there, don't panic yet - FedEx isn't always good at keeping their shipping information up to date. Twice, I've checked on the status of packages when I left work, the status shows that the package hasn't even made it to the local distribution center, and 20 minutes later, when arriving home, the package was on the doorstep. When I ordered my brother's iPod, the day after he got it, the FedEx site was still listing as unshipped, sitting in a airport in Shanghai

Where did you get that FedEx widget? I haven't seen that one yet.

At least we know we will be getting our packages delivered tomorrow
I'm still in preparing shipment according to Apple's website. I'd be thrilled if it actually came tomorrow.

Just open a movie and try it in full screen. If you can, it has!
