I first noticed it "prepared for shipment" 5:30pm PST when I was at work (I had been checking almost every hour, once people were reporting theirs shipping). By the time I got home at 6:20pm it was shipped with a FedEx tracking number.

mine said Prepared for shipment last night at 8pm.

it still has not changed.. what the?? is it shipping or no? :(
is it possible that it is Prepared for shipment, but doesn't ship for 2 weeks?!
my card has already cleared payment. :((((((

oh and not going to work might not be good. 'on truck" can mean 9am, or 6pm.
:)

Mine has arrived from when it shipped yesterday :D Just got done installing my extra parts from newegg and I am mid OS X install at this point. Good luck to the rest of you. I hope you get yours soon!

why are you "mid os X install"?

isn't OS X installed already??
on a side note, if u reinstall osx on a new drive, what about Ilife? does it come with ilife install disc too?

It looks like it may be shipped this afternoon then, if the FedEx guy comes around 5/6ish

if so. what is "overnight"?
tomorrow?
or monday?

edit: DAMN IT. not yet shipped is no different than "prepared for shipment". i'm still refreshing my order status like 10000 times an hour.
:(

Some thoughts...

My configuration: Base MacPro (8-core) + 8800gt -- no discounts/etc.

Ordered: Jan. 20th
Ship: Feb. 20th
Arrival: Feb. 26th
I am in Houston, TX

I called Apple after reading this massive thread. It was explained that my MacPro is coming from overseas.
This explains, in my opinion, why the times for packing and shipping updates are at all hours of the day/night.

While on the phone with Apple, they went ahead and offered to upgrade my shipping method.
I had originally chosen Standard shipping, they upgraded me to 2-3 Day. This moves my arrival date from Feb. 26th to Feb. 22nd-23rd.

I did not mention anything about hearing others that ordered after me getting theirs now.

I had been resigned to the long delay, so I'm not that bothered by it. However, I am amused at the frantic replies to these still unsubstantiated claims of shipping.
Call me a cynic, but every post to date that claims theirs shipped is a 'Newbie' forum user. :)

Sure... but why do the FedEx tracking reports from other orderes show the product coming from California?

Cynic.

hahaha

i was the 1st to respond to the first guy..and yah it's been true pretty much.
not saying there's no lies, but this is true

Dude, there's pics all over this thread. People have the systems in there hands. I'm not sure how much more proof you need :)

Still no change for my status.

Well, I called AmEx to pre-authorize the charge, and they also told me that no, no attempted Apple charge had been made. Sigh. Cry. :(

Last night I got a survey from Apple asking me how I liked my new MP. I dont't think they got the answers they were looking for, since my machine still says ship by Feb 14 and I ordered Jan 8th! I think they are just trying to rub it in! I am going to call Apple at lunch!

I want to call too, but I know I'm just going to get the run around. It really seems like they lost a bunch of orders. They haven't even tried to charge my card.

Argh! Ok, I'm sufficiently annoyed now.

I'll report back after calling Apple!

I ordered on Jan 22 and status still says Not Shipped.
I want it now!!
Could the installed software (aperture) be making it take longer?
Anyone with 3.2GHz processor receive a shipping notice yet? I read through
lots of threads but can't compile the info. Seems most are 2.8GHz.

Here's my config:

Custom configuration
Two 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeo
2GB (2x1GB)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB
320GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb
One 16x SuperDrive
APERTURE
APPLE MIGHTY MOUSE
WIRED KYBRD/MAC OS X
Country Kit

Ships by: Feb 12
Delivers by: Feb 18

Official notice:

stop wondering if it's a software, hd, or any other specific config.;)

all has nothing to do with it.

it's total Apple Randomness.

:(
just pray and hope apple god smiles upon you.

Okay, I have a wacky idea to add to the pot as to why some orders aren't shipped yet (like mine, ordered Jan. 9).

A few hundred threads ago, someone said they had worked for Apple before and that orders aren't just shipped via plane from China, but also by ship. So, perhaps someone screwed up and put a lot of the earliest orders on the ship instead of the plane, and a lot of the later orders on the plane instead of the ship.

Planes travel faster, so they arrived first and have thus been forwarded onto the customers and driving people like me crazy, while some of us are still "Waiting for our ship to come it."

I'm telling you... it goes straight to the rat lab!

The problem is apparently the Leopard that is roaming loose in the rat lab. ;)

Ordered January 15th, stock + 8800gt, still no love. I called and asked if anything was wrong with the order, and it was all fine.

Anyone care to share a shipping order number from this month, so that I can ask some more pointed questions about the definition of the "expedited shipping" that I paid for?

You would think that someone at Apple would know for sure and be able to tell people. You would think...

Hmm... or the stork could be bringing it over. ;)
