Yes, a friend's 3.2GHz shipped yesterday. Ordered in the second half of January, about a week after I placed my order. Needless to say, mine (2.8GHz) isn't even being prepared for shipment yet.

- Martin, waiting...

I think us Jan people need to start a new thread, because if I hear about another Feb order going through I might explode

Nugget, i like your signature link... i had to buy another 22" Samsung to go with the other i have (since im tapped on the expense of the comptuer... im a student)... but I plan to eventually get a 30" if/when Apple updates their ACD's.

I guess i could just stick a 2600 in there for the third monitor (?).

I tried whining to apple, to no avail... She mentioned "oh, you have a corporate discount..." which led me to believe they aren't giving additional discounts to orders that were already discounted... I couldn't even get expedited shipping.

Oh well, it will be here eventually. Now I know, don't be the first to order

Seriously. It's just getting crazy.

I second this ... or third this.

By chance, is anyone who ordered in the last half of January or in February who has had their order either "prepped" or "shipped" willing to PM me their order number to use as fodder when calling Apple? Preferably, you got the same config as I did, with just the 8800 and wireless added? And the ADC discount, perhaps, too?

Pretty sure its the 500GB drive... if you config right now and just add the 500GB option, it adds 7-10 days.

Ppl with 500GB hd's have received their MP's already. It's not the HD's. I mean, really, they have thousands and thousands of orders to fulfill and it's barely been 24 hours since we found out someone got theirs shipped. Now a lot more ppl have gotten theirs shipped and those who haven't are growling louder.

No conspiracy theory. No alphabetical, random or que theories either. I'm sure the EVA Air cargo plane landed with a full load yesterday and they shipped those out. Same thing is happening today. Same thing will happen tomorrow and the day after.

It still stings a little when you ordered on Jan 10th and your status is still "NOT YET SHIPPED"

At least I can stare at my 4x2gig ram and my 1T Barracuda sitting on my desk not doing anything.

Here's to good news today!

Then why is computer that was ordered in February shipping before mine (Jan. 8th!) ?

Apple shipping must be a giant cluster F...

Oh come on!

I order the very day the item was announced! Jan 8th. Still no shipping notice, not change in status at all. I just called the 800 number for Apple, and they had no further info either. Just "Shows that it will ship on Feb 13th", which it's said since the minute I hit the order button.

They did upgrade me to overnight shipping, but still. Come on!

I'm happy that many of you have them on the way, but jeeze! Half the people posting here ordered well after I did. What happened to first come, first serve?

It really is unfortunate that I ordered Feb 1 and have a "Prepped for shipment" and you (and Matthews, Chameleon, GarthAlgar, and others) are not having any updates. Sure, it's nice that I'm having mine prepped, but it just would be decent to get orders out the door in a queue fashion.

I really think APPLE should make this up to the people who ordered early.
Maybe with some gift cards or even a dam pin that says " I survived the Harpertown Mac Pro BS".

What do think?:D

Same exact story for me, though I ordered on the 10th (so not everyone is getting it before you :D)

I can't believe I have turned into one of those guys who checks his #@$# order status every 10 minutes.

Now that sounds like a plan. :D BTW, my order still says "Not Yet Shipped." I'm hoping it'll change by the end of the day, but I'm not holding my breath.

I keep checking mine too... I keep making up excuses for myself that I'm not "s&*t pot wacko" I mean, let's all face it we're like little kids the night before Christmas:D Just hoping santas on his way!

Thanks! By the way, once my Mac Pro was "Prepared for shipment" it was only 1.5 hours more until it was "Shipped" with a FedEx tracking number, so yours seems very close :)

Congrats! My question is when did you order yours and what configuration?
Thanks and enjoy!

What time did you notice yours with a tracking number... i checked at 6am this morning and it was prepared for shipment (a little party went off in my head), then checked again just a second ago and its still there... i'm just wondering if they put it on the truck at a certain time.

I ordered mine day one Jan 8th at 8:30 am... stock 8 core 2.8 config plus GeForce 8800, with edu discount.
Apple shipped it Jan 6 from Fullerton, CA and I'm local so it should have been in my hands yesterday. The FedEx status shows a "shipping exception" delay because the barcode was unreadable and replaced, so I gotta wait until today. Not complaining though!

I first noticed it "prepared for shipment" 5:30pm PST when I was at work (I had been checking almost every hour, once people were reporting theirs shipping). By the time I got home at 6:20pm it was shipped with a FedEx tracking number.

Just got off the phone with Apple again.

As I said in earlier post, ordered Jan 11-- Dual 3.2, 8800 and 500 gb drive. Still shows Feb 19 ship. Yesterday, the rep credited my $76 next day FedEx charge.

Today I got the song and dance that post-sales has no idea of machine allocation or production. All of that comes from factories which are overseas (yes, you do have to fly over the Salton Sea if you are going to Fullerton via San Diego Lindberg Field). His supervisor put in a "priority allocation request" to figure out what's going on. They suspected the 8800 and when I said those were shipping he switched his story to the 500 gb drive.

Said that it would push me to the back of the queue if I switched to a different drive. It is getting a bit absurd now with the inability to track an order's progress. Even Dull Computer does a better job and the Indian reps are more polite about it.

So, they gave me another $100 credit.

Irritating because I have some serious deadlines. I'm even "connected" and my connections can't move things along.

Grrrrrrr...

I feel better already. This is so much cheaper than an hour with my shrink.
