How incredible...did we all decide to order machines the same day? I don't see any other recent threads where ten of us ordered a MacPro the same week.

The way I figure..>Apple stands to pull down about 50 large from members of this site, this week, alone:)

BTW...my order just switched to "prepared for shipment" as well!

SWEET! Hoping for it by the weekend as well!

I wonder what the volume of Mac Pros is per week. Looks like my MP has shipped from California last night and will be here on Thursday.

Mine is due to arrive today, but Scan.co.uk (or any UK etailers tbh) couldn't get my speakers, mouse, or hard drives here until Friday.

At least I can build my desk and read the manual, oh, and stare at my 8GB of OWC RAM :);)

I ordered mine yesterday afternoon from the apple store around 16:00 and the nice UPS man delivered it this morning at 09:15. Standard build.

The box is huge! :)

My Mac Pro was shipped yesterday (25th), but the delivery estimate is 3rd April. Can't imagine it will take that long - hopefully will be here by the end of the week...

I went for stock configuration plus wifi.

I too am hoping to get a Mac Pro in a few days, ordered a stock refurb 2.8 off the Apple Store on Sunday, with an 8 day preparation lead time guide and delivery of 4-7 April. Today I got an email today saying it had shipped, so not sure if this is for Apple to prep the machine or for me to get it.
I'd like to try the demo for Crysis and if it is good starting saving for a 8800GT and more RAM.

I went to the local Mac shop today just to browse as I eagerly await the arrival of my Pro...(tomorrow or Friday)...and I walked out with a 23" monitor:D

I wasn't going to let myself! I have a Gateway FHD2400 for my PC and it's gorgeous! I was going to do the same thing for the Pro...but for some reason, I feel like my first Pro needs to have an Apple monitor...am I insane? Do most of you use Mac monitors or is the extra cost silly? I don't know that I even know what "accurate" colors are...but I am a sucker for new flat panel technology...I have a couple of XBR LCDs from Sony in the house.

It'll certainly be interesting to see the new monitor...they look great in the shop!

C-Net gives this thing a helluva rating and it seems like it has a pretty enthusiastic following...I am just curious if there is a justified reason for it to be so much more expensive than the other LCD panels

Sorry to derail the thread...it all has to do with my Pro delivery though:D

Those cinema displays do look sweet, and they match up with the Pro, but that's just too much money to spend on a monitor unless you're doing high end work on it.

I got my Samsung 245BW, and I love it - excellent quality, 24" widescreen....couldn't ask for better, unless I was doing professional color correction, in which case I'd go for a high end Eizo or Viewsonic monitor :)

The shipping is most probably to you - my dad ordered a refurb Macbook on the weekend, which also said it would be ready in 8 days. He got the shipping notice just 2 days after ordering it and delivery was earlier today (3 days total).

You won't regret it one bit - I purchased a 23" Cinema Display when they were first released in Sept '04 (at a cost of £1500!) and it's never put a foot wrong. Still use it every day and have no intention of replacing it any time soon! I still get people commenting on what a stunning monitor it is when they walk in my room and see it for the first time :D

Just an update..

Mine came yesterday at 11am, so after work I managed to hike to Ikea and pick up a desk, got home around 8.

Anyway, after I'd built the desk I decided to install the RAM I'd gotten from OWC and was up and running in no time :)

Just waiting for my hard drives, speakers and mouse to arrive before I properly have a play. Saying that, it's been folding all night

Sweet!

I just received my 2408wfp so i got dual monitors now. Just waiting for the mac pro. Fingers cross it's coming tomorow.

The ACD is a S-IPS monitor which is generally considered the best for pro color work and having the added benefit that is has a reasonable response time, and you get the 3 year warranty for nothing if you buy together. In fact, the cheapest 23/24" S-IPS monitors that I have found are made by this company, and combined with their sweet design are a bit of a bargain. Lots of comments along the lines of 'hey, there are cheaper monitors' : The cheaper monitors are cheaper because they are cheaper :)

Apple are teasing me right now. I got my ACD a week ago, and am still waiting for my MacPro (today is the last day it should have been sent) and 5 days beyond the estimated delivery. It's unlike Apple Japan who are generally very fast: I once sent a laptop to be fixed on Monday morning, and it came back Tuesday evening. At first, I suspected the delivery guy had just driven round the block or something.

Well a strange thing has happened on my order.... at some point today my order has changed to 'estimated delivery date - 27 March' - that's today!...... but it won't come now.... (1815)

Hopefully tomorrow....

Samsung 750 Gb drives being delivered tomorrow - just waiting for 4GB Ram from OWC.......

Same here. Why is shipment tracking so useless?

Just got mine! 2:30pm Alaska Time!

Memory and Hard drives arrive tomorrow, as well as a Neuman TLM103 mic I one on ebay:) for Logic:)

What an incredible weekend ahead...
