My MacPro 1,1 (8-core x5355) currently gets between 10,320 to 10,410 depending which way the wind is blowing and whether or not it's hanging to the right or to the left.

Beats me. Faster RAM? A bug?

Got a zero in the wrong place... 10,320 ~ 10,410
Heh, wishful thinking?![]()
This is my base Mac 4,1 (W3520) (flashed to 5,1 firmware) w/32GB ram - 8260.
After reading many comments in this thread, I'm planning on upgrading to a 6-core W3680, which should provide a substantial boost. I'll repost when the job is done.
Question - I haven't enabled Trim support for the 840 SSD - would doing that improve my overall score?
Just built a i7 3770K hacintosh for my partner for with a samsung 840Pro 256, 32GB, NZXT case/sealed radiator cooling for around $1200. Without overclocking the cpu is hitting 14,500+ on geekbench 64-bit. The chip is unlocked at 3.5Ghz and will easily push to 4.3Ghz. Haven't had time to push it yet.
My '09 MacPro with a 3.33 i7 975 hits around 11,300 (just ran it with an assortment of idle in the background)
