You might wanna reevaluate your answer there. :) Have you seen the price of the latest Surface Laptops or the high end Lenovos?
Not as high as Apples.. I live in the UK and Apples pricing is plain ludicrous! And it has nothing to do with Brexit fact! It’s just pure price gouging. My next new Apple purchase will be an iPad Pro. At present with the state of iOS 13 on my XR, being buggy and all my apps constantly reloading every time I switch between them, I may ditch the iPhone.. we will see if Apple fixes it.
After iOS 11 and it’s endless buggy mess it’s a disgusting insult for Apple to charge so much for broken products! In fact after next year I don’t plan on buying anything new from Apple for a long time.

For those continuously pining for a 4K OLED display on their 15” MacBook Pro - https://www.theverge.com/2019/10/14...2019-review-oled-core-i9-specs-features-price -

I’m sorry, but 5.5 hours just doesn’t damn cut it, no matter how gorgeous the display might be...and that’s with a 97w/hr battery, a proprietary 130w powerbrick (No USB) and the 8-core still makes the machine get too hot despite the fact that this laptop is a couple of mm thicker than the 15” MacBook Pro.

So, if this is what you want Apple to do, well, to be blunt, go away. We don’t need OLED or even 4K and I don’t want to see MagSafe again with some ridculuous looking humongous brick to power it. I want USB-C, maybe a bit thicker chassis and a better cooling system, cooler and faster Navi GPUs (if that’s possible) and 10-12 hours of battery life, the Magic Keyboard 2 scissors mechanism, the 3.5mm audio jack on the left hand side and four Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports.

Anyone who wants to switch to the other side, please go now.

I just speced them out today, an X1 Carbon which is much more powerful than the MacBook Air is $400 less. Better CPU but same RAM, SSD, display, etc. Comparable battery life,, but the X1 Carbon is lighter and has a legendary keyboard, a trackpoint, rock-solid reliability, USB-A ports, and HDMI out without needing to carry dongles.

That Lenovo by the way comes with a 5-year next day repair warranty and CRU parts (customer replaceable units), something Apple doesn't even offer as far as I can tell.

After looking at the process of adding more ram to a 21.5 inch iMac, I’m pretty sure I’ll never buy another Mac again. The video I watched on youtube was so ridiculous with the display coming off and the entire computer being taken apart and then reassembled just for a ram upgrade, it should have had a laugh track. You could build an entire PC from the ground up in less time than it takes to add memory to a Mac.

Not really surprised Mac sales are falling. Loving iPadOS at the moment on my Pro, but my 2 month old iMac is getting sold if I can find someone who doesn’t realise it’s a pig to upgrade.

Apple would prefer if their magic boxes remain sealed. That is their prerogative.

Just swap capslock and escape in the preferences. Puts escape in a much better position, and gets rid of the useless capslock.
(Late reply, sorry) I use Caps Lock for Control. Use that very often in Terminal, too.

You sure? ;) I sat down and built a few configs and both devices came to the same price as Apple laptops. Prices are crap not just in the UK. Same in Ireland. In fact, sometimes the prices in Ireland are higher than the UK.
