If iDisk were to be really functional, it would need at least 2G of online storage. For $100, 10G would be an impressive amount.
I guess I'll wait and see what they do, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

With mail services like Yahoo!, Google and Hotmail now offering loads of space (especially Google with gmail) which are technically just for e-mail and not explicitly for storage (even though that's what everyone uses it for!), Apple needs to bump up their limits to remain competitive. I don't think it's right that people get more storage with their e-mail service than they do with an aspect of .mac that is supposed to be dedicated for the specific purpose of storing files.

Also, Apple updated .Mac last year around this time (September 29). Coincidence? I think not. 😀
As a .Mac subscriber, I'm wondering if this update is substantial enough to hold me over for another year. Over the past month, I've been migrating my email contacts to a different address in case I decide to part with .Mac.
A strange coinscidence - that's pretty much when my renewal is too. How long has iTools/.Mac been around? I'll be going into my 3rd year of subsciption this september (or is it beginning of october?) This was just because I bought my first iBook about 6 weeks before the new school term 2 years ago.joshuawaire said:Interesting that Apple is readying a .Mac update right before the first wave of .Mac subscribers are up for renewal (42 days from now to be exact).

MacPhreak said:As I said before, for syncing, yes, it is too much. And it's not 27 cents per day. It's $99, NOW. If it was 27 cents per day, maybe (or $10/month, or $25/quarter). But when I have to fork out 1/3 of my free cash one month (after mortgage, car insurance, food, etc), it ain't worth it. There is nothing that spectacular about .mac.
If you're paying $100/mo to keep your website running, you're paying too much. Or not spending enough time in class. Or both. As I've said before, Freeshell.org has 300mb webspace for the ONE TIME FEE of $36.
