Is the fabric the same as the Apple case?
Not at all. It's microfiber. Has a fine microfiber/felt feel to it.

can you comment on the thickness between the apple case and the macally bookstand?
You can buy mine since I don't like it![]()
Do you think if an iPad has something like this http://www.sgpstore.com/product_info.php/cPath/23_36/products_id/1322 on its back - would it still fit into the Macally case?
Well I predicted this would happen but I didn't think it would be so quickly. The lid no longer lays flat.

gottcha. I was not sure. Not at all. It's microfiber. Has a fine microfiber/felt feel to it.
The bookstand I would say is a little thicker than the apple case. But it is just thick enough to make more comfortable to hold.![]()
What do you mean by this exactly? Can you post a pic?

Ah I see. Any warping issues with yours as the one noted above?

All of you getting the case so quickly is making me regret ordering from Antonline via Amazon.
and this review put me over the top. Thank you to everyone for sharing.
Although, all of you must have bought them up because they are sold out everywhere! I had to bite the bullet at the MacAlly/iUnitek site since they were the only one I could find today with this case in stock.
$49.99 + 8.44 shipping + tax = not exactly a great deal, but I wanted it to arrive before I get my 3G iPad next week.
What made you think this would happen? Were you really squeezing the case when you had the cover open such that it took on the curved shape of the iPad?
I thought it would happen because the lid is not very stiff. It's not formed by the shape of the iPad. It's because the leather sleeve presses up in the middle when the lid is flipped around flat on the rear. The middle is raised and the edges are pressed down by my leg or hand when I'm using it on couch.
Here is a little review for the problem I found with mine.

so this happened to mine after a couple days also, but it took a total of 0.5 seconds to correct. just bend the edges back down either manually or let it sit upside-down overnight, not a huge deal IMO still the best case out there.
