You're mostly "preaching to choir" in this forum! Wholeheartedly agree. You would be even happier with a 2017 maxed out pink 12" MacBook I had until recently.

I traded up to an M1 MBA 16/512 which is in a different league, but silent and fanless like the 12" MacBook.

Unless the small size is really, really important the M1 MBA is a no brainer upgrade.
But it's just not as cool as the 12 " and my base 2017 is almost as fast as the m1

I just bought this Macbook 12 2017 m3 CPU for $180 CAD (~$131 USD).

It came with the 29 watt charger but no usb c cable, so I stole a 2 meter usb c cable from the Apple Store and now everything works fine.

What do you think of the laptop?

Coming on MacRumors and bragging that you shoplifted from Apple is terrible.

The laptop is kinda slow, which makes sense as it is an eight year old laptop, are there anyways to make it faster? other than doing hte thermal mod so it doens't throttle?

I read in the news once that a guy had went into a church and stolen a pretty good collect, and after that he had went to confess his sin's anonomously. 😈
Sounds similar to the 'Apple-church'.....

Some just want to show what they can get away with, until they can't anymore 😕

I got my MacBook i7/16GB a few months ago and have upgraded it to Sequioa 15.6 Beta 3 and have been using it and so far it seems to run the current OS pretty well with one noticeable glitch. It drops internet connectivity periodically and requires cycling WiFi on/off before reconnecting. Wondering if anyone else is having this issue?

I also have my 4th Gen iPad Pro 11 inch which is powered by a 3.49 GHz Apple M2 processor with 8 cores (4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores), a 10-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and 100 GB/s of memory bandwidth. This tablet has been updated with iOS26. It is a nice tablet however I still find using my MacBook in some cases is still the preferred way to accomplish some tasks.

What I like best about my 12 inch MacBook is the foot print, how thin and light this laptop really is. For what it is, this is an amazing laptop and so far I haven’t had any issues typing on my butterfly keyboard.

You must have laser eyes if you read with the font that small. I usually set mine to 110% but then the screen doesn't display some webpages properly at that zoom level.
