For a Macbook 12"I would just slap Catalina and use it with Firefox. Not iCloud account and that's all.

You will get a really good performance and it would allow you to use the web without problem. You can check the email on Firefox, use whatsapp/telegram web, etc. Maybe use iCloud in the web if you need to transfer any file.

The machine can't handle more than that. I loved mine but yeah, the performance was terrible.

It is very sad that the Neo is like a Mini Air M2. I'd love to have a Neo with the same size as the 12" Macbook

Before I upgraded to the Neo, i found using safari was so slow it was unusable. I then downloaded Chrome and ironically made it go faster, but for as beautiful the machine is; it's not a performer (i have the higher end config too - 512 GB/16GB/i5) . I sometimes do miss it though because it really is an aesthetic machine

A little post revival.

I took my MacBook on vacation because I wanted something light for all the flights. Nine years later, it's still an absolute solid machine. I honestly think it's the best Intel MacBook Apple ever made for travel and couch use.

The battery is currently showing 8 hours 46 minutes remaining. I couldn't tell you the exact real-world battery life because it lasts me all day and I just plug it in at night.

I have about 20 tabs open and no issues and any heavy lifting is done over a VPN connection to my desktop, so this machine just keeps doing what I need it to do.

I haven't touched my M4 Air in a long time. I think it has fewer than 10 battery cycles since I bought it, which probably says everything about how well this old MacBook is holding out.

2017 i7 16gb ram running windows 10 and have also done the cooling mod.

Think i will go ahead sell my M4 Air since it's a chunk compared to this one.

Nine years??!? Wow, that was (still is!) an awesome device. Hopefully my lil' ol' MBN works for me just as long!
