2.66 costs 2200 dollars here. 2.4 costs 1750$. I have 2500$ for buy a computer, so i want to get the best with this money.
I think it ll be enough for me.
U think im doing right, buying it now?

I think you should get the 2.4Ghz and use that money elsewhere. If I had the money and I was deciding between 2.4ghz and 2.66ghz, I would have spent that $300 in some nice headphones, and other accessories. In other words, the difference is minimal between both models.

Exactly. Why spend $450 on an upgrade unless you can specifically identify the value that upgrade provides?

Just because the number is bigger doesn't mean it's the "better" computer for your needs.

It's your decision of course, but from what I'm reading you'd be throwing your money away.

I was searching here.. And 2.4 With 500gb costs 1800$, are u sure 2.66 isnt make difference?
And if i put 8gb ram? It ll be how faster?

The 2.66 will literally make no difference for you. Faster processor does not equal faster computer. The same can be said for more RAM. The only way it will be faster is if your needs demanded it. For what you have mentioned and anything you might need in high school, 2.4 with 4GB ram will be enough. If you need to, you can upgrade the ram later.

And how i transfer all my files from my pc to mac? I dont have a external hd, can i do it with a ethrnet cable?

Thanks for u all, who tried to help me. I really aprecciate it.:)

The processor wont make difference playing the games ive said before?

Nope. Games are far more graphics intensive than CPU intensive, so a faster CPU really won't affect performance, especially with how little of a bump that it is.

An ethernet cable would likely work, although I would advise investing some of your left over money in an external hdd for backups and transferring.

I can't emphasize this enough: if you don't have a backup solution you're BEGGING for trouble. As cheap as external hard disks are, and as easy as Apple has made the Time Machine backup software solution, it's silly not to be backing up your system.

Ok, ill see if i buy an external hdd too. Ive decided to buy 2,4 model. And after one year, put an 128gb SSD. What difference ssd will make, exactly?

An SSD will be the single most change you make where you notice the biggest diff.... in reality it's not needed, but man the perceived difference is crazy.

Your computer will start up faster, applications will load faster, files will transfer faster, and it'll be noticeable too. It's a luxury more than a necessity. I have one and love it... my fav. upgrade by far.

Anyways, I would buy the 2.4GHz 13" and take that extra money and buy a nice western digital external HDD... you NEED to back up. After that first failure, you will hate yourself and end up buying an external anyways.

I would go for the 2.4ghz and spend the extra money on SSD, I think thats a better decision then going for 2.66ghz.

between the 2.4 and 2.66, there actually not a big different but between HDD and SSD you'll see ALOT of differences.

Another vote to stick with the 2.4. If you're worried about getting the best CPU you can, then wait for the update. It's pretty much universally agreed upon though that the 2.66 upgrade price is not cost effective.
