MacBook A1181 problem

So I have a 2007 MacBook A1181 that has a problem. When I start it up the screen stays black and after 8 seconds it restarts when plugged in. Can anybody help with this?

can you reset the pram?
and
after the delay, does the MacBook air work?
you might need a new battery if that wont start unplugged.

Yes I have tried that and the battery runs fine
