Ordered early Tuesday, finally shipped today. FedEx predicts I'll get it Friday but I find their service to be excellent (always ahead of time). Wednesday or Thursday would be nice.

My MBA has been sitting in customs since Thursday morning 7 AM in my city.

Status says, "Clearance Delay - Import".

I've never see Fedex take 48 hrs or more to clear a package through customs. So I called Fedex here in Toronto and they advised that Apple custom clears its own packages in Canada. I'm not sure if they are BS'ing me or not.

Well I just finally took the plunge after days of deliberating over the MBPR and the Air.

I got the Air 1.8 i5 8GB 128 SSD, with the £70 voucher, wireless keyboard and mighty mouse for a total of £1030. I really happy with that price as my budget was £1500. I'll be buying a Dell U2412M monitor for £225 and I'm hoping I'll be very happy with the set-up!

I ordered 13/4/128 on 12 June. I cancelled it on 15 June and ordered 13/8/128. It will be shipped in 6-8 days and the expected delivery is 27-29 June.
Today I check the applestore and the new order will be shipped in 1-3 days. Shall I cancel my current one and reorder? thanks :)

I have been torn over the RMBP as well but I just don't think a 15" laptop is a good choice for me. I use mine when travelling. What made you choose the MBA?

The "in transit" in Alaska from yesterday just departed

Jun 15, 2012 3:35 PM Departed FedEx location ANCHORAGE, AK

I had a good think about actually using the system and what I needed from the machine. I don't need a quad core Laptop. I do little processor intensive work. i mostly word process, watch films, internet use, edit photos and listen to music. For these I believe RAM is more important and 8gb is plenty. I've bought the wireless keyboard and mouse and will get the external monitor so I can use it at my desk. It's a great screen with great resolution, again fine for my needs. The total will come to about £250 less than the mbpr.

I only really wanted the MBPR because it was new and looked cool. But I'd rather wait for a few years before upgrading to the pro machine, when all issues will be ironed out.

Makes sense.
