School, movies, music, Anime, light games....thats about all right now. I am new to mac so only basic stuff right now as I might break it

Getting a 13 inch, 8gb, 128, will be using it for writing - fiction and journalism - photography, music, experimenting with making mulimedia e-books to combine all the things i do, plus some of the usual safari, mail, iiTunes things, but iPad covers most of that.

Everything, in fact its at risk of taking over from my iPad2!!!

This is my first Mac, having been appleified by the iPhone, iPad and AppleTV, I love the integration and interoperability.

I'll never go back to a PC now!!!

What is it still 2005? Every true porn connoisseur streams it these days.

Just to stay on topic the MBA streams porn as good as any computer I've used.
It's 2012, and today true porn fans are watching Blu-ray 3D porn, let's see how you're going to stream that.

surfing the net, webmastering (my side job), coding web contents, little graphic duties, email, travel

Good thing to hear that the Air is being used for intense activities. Tomorrow, I'll know what to expect. I do hope that my apps (Final Cut, PS, AE, etc.) will run well. After all, it is 2.5x higher in geekbench score than my previous computer who was able to handle it fine.

Can't wait!!!

Design, photography (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom), web development (Coda, other editors), browser testing in OSX and Windows (via Parallels Desktop).

The Air is my main and only computer, used 95% of the time in a desktop setting, lid closed, driving a 30" display with no hiccups.

-Streaming Services not available for iPad
-Hardware keyboard when iPad soft keys start getting annoying

Web development: DreamWeaver, PhotoShop, ScreenFlow, etc. It's my main and only computer and it runs like a champ.

How do you sync Aperture to your iPad?

For everything! the MBA is my only computer at the moment, One day i'll add an iMac to the family but for now, the MBA suits me really well. the 128gb SSD is not really a problem too since I stream all the music I listen to.

Use for everything

I got a new MBA, 512G, 8G RAM about a month ago. I use for professional services, which includes heavy document production and editing, PDF creation and manipulation, Skyle, Logmein, and spreadsheets. No video, no Photoshop, very little non-work related activities. Everything open at once. Works great with a couple of exceptions: 1) sloughs a bit converting large PDF to OCR, 2) very cramped ( and inadequate ) screen space when working on spreadsheets without external monitor, and (3) needs to be able to drive 2 external monitors. Great machine and glad I chose it over the rMBP, as I don't like first generation products for my business. Very easy to move from one work location to another.

I use my Air to do work on the go, as well as to enjoy a movie on a flight and make important Skype calls. Pretty low-key, but I've also got an iMac which I do heavy-duty work on.

Exactly the same scenario here. I'm a freelance writer. The iMac is my main machine because the large screen is more convenient for writing. I use the MBA in the evenings when I'm in the family room with my wife and need to get caught up on writing.

I also have a first-gen iPad, which for two years I struggled to make work as a laptop. Hence the MBA. I still use the iPad for checking email, browsing and ham radio stuff.

dont have a MBA yet, hope to be picking one up soon.

Until this weekend been running an all windows shop with 6 windows computers in my home office/lab. Was given a 2007 MBP that is no longer being used, but just not powerful enough for my likings as a lil old. MBA will be replacing that and also my main windows laptop as my main machine. going for the 11" MBA 4g 128g

Nothing too heavy. Note taking, paper writing, tv shows and Skype. For everything else I have my desktop PC.

web, print, words, and i only have i5/4gb/128gb :)

indesign, photoshop, dreamweaver, illustrator, firework, logic, final cut X, it handles better than my previous 2008 unibody macbook pro :apple:

inDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, After Effects, Lightroom, AutoCAD, Maya, Rhino, SketchUp, iOS/OSX dev work.

All runs fine.

and (3) needs to be able to drive 2 external monitors

It does. 2 Non-Apple/Thunderbolt screens can be driven via the Matrox Dualhead2Go DP edition, (the 2011 already did this) and 2 Apple Thunderbolt screens can simply be daisy-chained. I currently run 1 1440x900 internal + 2x1920x1200 Lenovo L2440p with the DualHead2Go
