Running a test/development environment in an 8 GiB Win7 x64 VM (with overhead, needs about 9 GiB). Usually have a 4 GiB Fedora VM running. Have various XP/2003/2008 test VMs, and an XP test/development system.
Becomes a pain to have to suspend/resume various VMs for testing, instead of just minimizing them.
I also sometimes run a database maintenance routine that just screams if it can get about 12 GiB to do an in-memory sort. I have to suspend or shutdown the 8 GiB VM and all but one of the smaller ones to run this.
It's amazing that "rumors" keep people in business... especially when your guess is as good as mine.
That's not entirely true, Lion and the new airs were scheduled to launch this week and got held back for some unknown reason. It's just lazy blaming the Apple sites.
No they didn't. Apple does not release products before Financial Conference Calls. They were never coming out this week.
I don't blame the rumors sites though for anything, except not mention this. It's amazing that rumors sites neglect to mention that once Apple announces the date for their Quarter Results, they never release new hardware.
It's been like this for years.
I can tell you it's not that great. I went private school, and my wife went public. We laugh at it now,but at first she felt embarrassed, about how much she didn't learn in the public schools that I was like... you don't know that? Which is why are children, when old enough, will more than likely go to a private or get home schooled. Most public schools are rubbish.
I don't comment much here, but this post is classic.
I guess you don't understand the definition of "rumors" then. (Sorry, I'm sure someone's already said that, but I had to myself.)Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)
Boy-who-cried-wolf... Macrumors.. You are the boy/website-who-cried-wolf/macbook-air...
Lost faith in you.
Well poop. Now I'm stuck with the option between a bulkier 13" MBP with a crappier screen or the machine I want with not nearly enough storage. Guess I'll be looking at cloud solutions.
You seem to think July 14th was just 'made up' it wasn't, they were definitely planned for the 14th, that's a screenshot from apple's internal system, showing the launch days of the new airs. Don't believe me if you don't want to.Image
I'd still like to know what happened to all the douchbags who insisted the current design of the macbook air didn't have a backlit keyboard because it 'couldn't fit'.

your both wrong, the new macbook air will come out in the future, and in the farther future, the following air will come out. All you have to do is wait
Alright guys I think you guys take these predictions far too seroiusly, macrumers is a rumer website they should never be like "WE ARE RIGHT" I went to a website where I made a post about how there will be no new iPad and gave this great reasoning behind the idea and the first 2 replied i got were "your wrong" and the third was an explanation stating "some guy who works for apple (something of the sort) guess right a bunch of times" I was like ...
So please keep your thoughts open regardless of what you saw on fox news.
The ETA says 14th AND 13th. Where you expecting products released two days back to back? That is not definitive proof at all.
You can say what you want, but Apple NEVER releases products before a financial call. This happens every quarter. There are rumors of new releases, people get worked up expecting releases, but they never occur until AFTER the call.
The 13" MBP screen wipes the floor with the 13" MBA screen, I should know I sold my air to go back to the 13" MBP. A few extra pixels wasn't enough to make up for the shocking viewing angles and terrible colour performance.
Requiring CUDA makes the choice obvious. I have had my own fair share of issues with ATI's drivers over the years.I have a fundamental dislike of ATI due to too many driver problems and having features dropped too many times (like TV decoding being dropped from the driver in the next version of the OS).
ATI doesn't have CUDA. Adobe likes CUDA. 'nuf said.
Third (and fourth, if I want) monitor's on a PCIe x1 Quadro card.
You are running all that off a Mac Pro? Could you be persuaded to use a Dell T7500? (Or more my speed a Dell R910, tricked out)?
