Anyone happen to know the best bookbag for the 13" MacBook? I looked at Booq but it seems they do not offer any yet.

its pricey, but i really really love my Booq BP3 set http://www.booqbags.com/Detail.bok?no=44 and the sleeve fits my 12" PB like a glove, very protected and took it on a flight and to Colorado. It got thrown around in the condo and things and i LOVE IT. I will never get anything else, when i get my MBP i will get the sleeve to fit it and keep the backpack. I would hold out for the MacBook sleeve.

This actually looks really nice. What is the so-called "non-scratch" material on the inside of the sleeves? Is it similar to the soft, felt-like fabric from the incase sleeves? Any word on when an MB sleeve will be available from Booq? Thanks for the link! :)

Has anyone found a bag that's available to buy in the UK now (or in a week or so)?

guys and girls check these bad boys out, by far the best macbook cases i've seen yet...

made in oz, but very different to what you're probably used too... plus you'd be hard pushed to find another one the same in your local starbucks...

I'll agree on this one. I've purchased one of these and it is flawless. Need to check if fits the Macbook snuggly, but foofshop said they'd replace it if it didnt - they havent got a Macbook to test the size when I ordered.

It took about 10 days to get to the UK and cost just over £20 delivered. Check them out http://www.foofshop.com

That is a sharp-looking bag there! I've got a few questions, though. Is it simply a sleeve without a zipper or does it have a snap or zipper mechanism to keep the MacBook from falling out? What is the material inside the sleeve? Is it the same as the outside? Let us know how you like it and if it fits! :)

The basics of it...

It its roughly 13.3" wide with an opening at one end (so you'll be able to see the connector ports / cd drive of the Macbook). The theory is - it is fairly snug so wont just slip out, although I dont know until perhaps Tuesday with my Blackbook arrives! It has no zipper or other way of holding the laptop in.

The inside of the case I think is some kind of black satin. Feels like silk, but I guess that would ramp the price up somewhat. It does feel incredibly soft and wont scratch the exterior of the laptop.

All in all its great quality and hand made. The people at fooshop are really helpful too and answer emails pretty sharpish if you want to contact them!

Keep an eye on this thread and I'll post some photos on flickr or something when the MB arrives.

I'm actually quite tempted by one of those :) I assume they don't really offer any protection except scratches though? But it is only ~£18 delivered to the UK, and looks quite cool.

Sounds great! I look forward to hearing more about it! :D

It's not as protective as a hard case of course, however it is thicker than I expected - so should be able to take some of the knocks that it may take in my JanSport to and from campus (not that I'll be throwing it around!!).

I think it came to £22.12 in the end through PayPal ($53.00 AUD). Had to include some extra for required postal insurance.

I had a foofbag for my iBook G4 it fitted pretty nice and snug, the only thing I didnt like was that it was not zip protected at the side therefore not protecting the iBook fromm spills and more importantly dust into the ports.....Otherwise a great bag and foofbag.com are a pleasure to deal with and very reasonably priced (they accept paypal too)

I was just wondering if any of you gentle men know the exact date when be.ez releases the LaRobe for MacBook??

Also is there any place besides Apple Store where they sell LaRobes and will ship them to Europe (Denmark in particular)?

I bought a Bitolithic (austrailian company, good shipping prices to the states/uk) sleeve for my macbook. I get it next week, but the email support and info I've gotten already has been extremely positive. They seem to be mac people, so I trust the sleeve will fit nicely. They also come with a screen protector and matching pouch for the power adapter and/ or a bt mouse. You can check them out at their page.

Unfortunately if you're not the biggest fan of the color blue, then it looks like you're out of luck.

I've bought a couple of sleeves from foof and can vouch for them. They make awesome stuff plus they are a cool company.

I'm a big fan of Radtech's Sleevz for Powerbooks and iBooks and, for those fanboys like me, I just got a response to an e-mail I sent to Radtech saying they would be available for the MacBook in about 15-20 days. Well worth the wait imo. :D

My only concern with them is they don't seem to offer much protection, so how safe is it to be carrying it around in my other bags?

Sweet! :D That's what I was waiting to hear! I really like the Sleevz, too. I guess I'll have to wait another few weeks. Unless Incase comes out with a MacBook sleeve before then... ;)

EDIT: After looking at the Bitolithic sleeves, I may go for one of those instead. They have the same zipper protection system that the RadTech Sleevz have, so the zipper and zipper teeth don't touch the laptop. I also like the little screen protector. :)

Has anyone tried this Sony sleeve: VGP-CKS1

It appears to be a little more padded than most, i'm just not sure it'll fit the MacBook properly :(

They should give you the internal dimensions of the sleeve somewhere. You can check the MacBook's dimensions on the Apple web site (under Tech Specs) and see for yourself if it'll fit.

Foofbag!

Hey guys,

Here's a link to my photos of the Foofbag on Flickr. It fits quite nicely! :)

-- Foof on Flickr Link --

I'm currently discussing the levels of snugness with foofshop.com - who say if it's not right, they'll replace it for free. I'm not to know what is right or wrong! LOL. Now that is service!

Im thinking of getting this one because its a backpack and a laptop case

Swiss Gear MAXXUM Computer Backpack

Search it on Apple.com because the URL wont work

It looks Ok but I prefer a fully sealable one like the Tucano Skins as they stop spills or crumbs etc when in a backpack....otherwise it looks alright,

The www.sfbags.com sleeve can be equipped with a flap to prevent those, at least to an extend. I'm going to get me one of those, fully specced, when I get my MB and have the extra money lying around.
