I use a clean washable microfibre cloth with distilled water on my Dell 24" display.

I would never use any chemicals on the screen unless it is filthy from residues.

If you keep it clean all the time, you won't need anything else.

Wash your hands or better yet, buy an ApplePro external keyboard for $29.00
if you're prone to eating fried chicken while surfing.

I put a small bit of windex on a microfibre cloth and wiped it with the power off and it seems to be much cleaner.

I dont know what to clean my screen with then :( I dont want to fork out $28 for the cleaning solution. Hey at least I bought the right cloth eh? :D

I thought that when apple aknowledged the problem, they also fixed the plastic so that it wouldn't continue to happen. Wouldn't that mean that if anyone has any discolouration problems with a new macbook, they will struggle to get apple to accept blame and fix it.

I've had a macbook for about a month and i can see a slight greyish discolouration (it's more noticable when i look at it from an angle), dispite keeping my hands clean. I havn't tried to clean it yet though, so hopefully it will come off easily.

Does anyone know where you can buy that Magic Eraser thing in the UK? I'm going to the US soon so i might be able to get some then. Can you get it from the supermarket or only from a hardware store.

I ordered "OmniCleanz" from RadTech.us when I got a mouse from there, it was only a few pounds (About £5, I think) and does the job well. As you’re in the UK, like me, I wouldn’t bother ordering it from there unless you’re ordering other stuff with it because of the shipping. But hey, always an option.

its not my screen its where my hands are leaning on the case and around the keyboard, its grey and looks dirty.
I contract Apple techies today and they said to try clean it with a damp clothe so i did and when nothing happened they said to take it back to get the casing changed....:(

I clean the MacBook once a month with a bit of window cleaner on a tissue, makes it look like brand new. I wouldn't use anything abrasive. And I wouldn't touch the screen with anything chemical at all, just a damp cloth.

a few months ago i cleaned my macbook with a wipe-on furniture cleaner. it worked well but it smelled bad for a while.

also, my macbook turned soooooo dirty because of my keyboard protector and i haven't cleaned it in a while. i took it off just now and look for alternative ways online on how to clean it and it led me here. i tried using the damp microfiber cloth and worked pretty good on the sides but the keyboard was still so dirty.

do you guys have any suggestions on as to how to clean the keyboard?:)
