I know about that stuff, I am on a macrumors forum at 7 am waiting for a product to be released. I have the internet too. I just hope apple would come to realize that there are retail outlets that existed long before an Apple retail store existed.

I am willing to accept that that may be true. I know 2 people that intend to buy one and neither of them will care...

what people here want is a mac that is as well balanced as all other macs, but which is as cheap as a Dell that has a superficially great performance.

Edit: Damn, it's down again. I got as far as choosing UK or Ireland...

Honestly, I'm serious. I think Macbook may be used, but not for the ibook replacement. iBook is a powerful name, and looks a lot like iPod. I think apple would be smarter than to just get rid of that name for a product. They got rid of 'Power' from powerbook, because they aren't using ppc chips anymore. The laptop is still an iBook. iMac, iBook. Call me crazy.
 
What's the chance that they are just getting things ready for Thursday, we see nothing on the store today but everything is ready behind the scenes so they can flick the switch on the rumoured press conference day?

Just a thought.

No chance. The staging servers in Cupertino are prepared in advanced, but then Akamai must distribute across the globe. When that is happening, this is what we get as the servers are synced--closed stores.

Hmm, I dunno how the store's work, but if I was Apple and did this, I'd do it in the middle of the night for each site..
Doesn't make sense to take down every worldwide store just for hidden changes.. but then, I dunno 🙂

Well, I'm glad that some people are realising that the new generation of integrated graphics doesn't deserve to be lumped together with the old, but I fear that the informed will be outnumbered by the knee-jerk crowd!

Money is on iBook, not MacBook. Maybe I'll eat something if I'm wrong. 😀

Edit: OK, OK, I know what I'll eat if i am wrong. I'll eat the first ibook/macbook that someone sends me after it's announced!

Best advertising ever really.

They pay very little in terms of advertising, yet, there's thousands of people constantly refreshing after the rumours have spread.

It's amazing 🙂
 
I am ready to pee my pants I am so excited. How much longer will the store be down in US... I got to go to work, but this is more important!
