This article should silence (at least it should) all the naysayers.
Unfortunately, they will only hyper focus on some small talking point and run with it.
Examples:
"ok so it's selling well.. I'll wait for the next generation."
"ok so it's selling well.. I'll wait for 12gb of ram."
"ok so it's selling well.. "It doesn't fit my professional workload that a m5max would cover, I won't buy an air either!"

Kind of funny, if they weren't actually serious.

I’d definitely wait for at least minimum 12gb RAM before buying one.

I can’t tell if Apple is truly surprised or is playing coy in its success. If they were truly surprised that, in this economy, people valued affordable computers with decent quality, Apple seems truly out of touch with reality outside of its beautiful HQ.

I hope they’re just being coy and “humble”, and weren’t truly blindsided by economic realities.

Congrats Apple!

Personally, I'm holding out for Neo 2 (give me more RAM), but it is a premium product at a great price. Hopefully they maintain the pricing for next year, but I wouldn't be surprised if they raise it by $50-$100.

And all of this competition is forcing others to do the same, so this really is a win-win scenario for consumers.

iPhone Air is So Popular That Apple Reportedly Doubled Production

That would’ve been a title had Apple just sold it for 799$. We brought two in the family for my sister and my niece, what a beautiful phone that made me second look at my 15PMx.

I wouldn’t even consider a windows computer now. With all the AI bloatware and the stunt they’ve pulled with Office 2019.
Can you be more dramatic? Wait for the next Apple OS's with SIRI/Gemini and see how much AI bloatware it comes with. And as far as Office 2019 goes, sure...seems MS could have pushed out an update to fix the certificate, but big deal -- how many people do you think still use Office 2019 on their Mac? It's 7 years old. It's not really uncommon to upgrade your software every once in a while? Like Apple stuff, it's no longer supported. But when MS does it, it's bad. Does no one with a Mac pay for upgrades to tons of 3rd party apps? Seems like a mountain being made out of a mole hill.

The Neo definitely was a surprise for me. Lightweight, affordable, and can run Photoshop easy. I've had it for 2 months now and would never go back.

So sad that this means we might eventually have to say goodbye to the $599 starting price
Agree, but inflation is everywhere. “$599” in 2026 will functionally be a smaller amount of money in 2027.

It’s actually super impressive how much MacBooks have weathered inflation over the years. If you bought an iBook (arguably the Air or maybe Neo of its day) back in 2005, it cost $999, which is like $1700 today...

The era of overselling MBPs to people who have no need for them is coming to an end.

A lot of customers are happy with a MacBook Neo with half the power at half the price.

It's interesting that it's cheaper to manufacture a MacBook Neo than an iPad with a keyboard.

Every iPad keyboard had issues, even the Brydge ones (which were IMO some of the best).

And I suppose people still prefer laptop form factors to tablets. I know my kids do, they have iPads but do work on laptops.
